This book was exhausting, in a good way. Most books I will read until I am done, I don’t stop for anything I don’t take breaks, until now.The story was so intense that several times I had to get up, go outside, reassure myself that I’m living in a world without the problems the characters in the story faced.Brilliantly written as are all of Nevill’s books, I loved the way there were no real explanations of the events, you just endured them and tried to survive them. Accepting that the world you once new was probably gone forever. It left me asking myself, what would I have done? Would I have behaved differently? Gone insane?Fast paced and intense a must read for lovers of horror and or apocalyptic stories.

This is possibly Nevill's best work. It's truly frightening, both in concept and execution, and is wonderfully written, as per usual with his work. Outstanding, couldn't recommend it more!
