iSmartgate Outdoor HD 720P Wireless Waterproof Security IP Camera for Gate Remote Control, Surveillance and Video Monitoring

I really like my gogogate garage door opener, but was always troubled by the temperamental camera setup. So I was delighted when the company announced a preferred camera and that they would provide a year of video service with the purchase. Even though the camera was pricey, I thought it would be nice to have something inherently intended for use with my Gogogate 2.- The packaging is fine, everything looked good. Things were labeled well, and easy to figure out what plugs into what.- I downloaded the ismartgate camera app, and was delighted that it uses a QR code scan to avoid having to type in a bunch of IP addresses.....And then it all went bad......- rather than syncing with my network, I go to "add a new camera", and scan the QR...then the app tells me to ensure I am on a 2.4Ghz network....OK....then I enter my wifi password....and wait......and wait.....and then get a message that it didn't work.....there is no troubleshooting....there is no option to manually set up....there is only failure. I cant even tell if the camera is getting power....there are no lights.The mfg did provide a CD, but unless you are a blackbelt in network IP camera configuration, it doesn't help....especially since it is written in that converted-from-chinese style of sentence structure.I'm out. I will send the package back to Amazon and get the comparatively wonderful NEST or RING cameras, that set up like they should. Sigh.
