Seagate ST3146707LW 146GB 10K RPM U320 68 PIN

The Dell PE800 server with PERC just runs. When the 2nd drive of the RAID mirror stopped responding I had to choose replacing the drive or the aging server. Amazon found me this pair of 146GB SCSI drives to replace my 80GB pair at a price much lower than the cost of labor to move to a new box. The vendor has a 5 star Amazon rating and was true to the stars. I had the drives a day early and exactly as advertised.I started the PERC manager and removed a non-mirrored temp partition. Then I swapped the dead 80GB drive and the PERC brought the new 146GB drive up with minimal interference from me. Once the array was green, I swapped the other drive and again, the PERC brought it online and restored the mirror. I added back the temp partition but mirrored it given all the new space. Now the box has double the disk space and will likely be online for another 5 years, long after someone else takes this job! hehe
