A trawler comes every three months to change crews, fuel the ship and take away the deep-frozen caught krill. Another feature of Eco-HarvestingTM is its following method: the specially developed net remains in the water the entire time. It is connected to the boat via a tube.
- The front end of the net in the water is sealed with another net. Only krill can pass this barrier. No fish are caught along with them. The krill are pumped immediately on board the ship along with fresh water from the bottom of the net. This enables absolutely fresh raw material to be processed. The method prevents enzymatic degeneration and ensures that all important nutrients are retained in the final product.
