So fun!
This thing is very fun and thought provoking. I sounds surprisingly well, not that you would use it to listen to music for long but there is something fun about interacting with the music through a plasma ark. So many other little things to explore too. I had seen past reviews saying the music didn't work. I have two audio output jacks on my computer, one worked one did not. I bet it's common. It's made well, a touch on the small side but fun.

A fantastic conversation piece for the desk and an excellent small Tesla coil
This is a very well made product. Everything is encased in clear plastic for protection, but yet you can easily see the guts. This is a fantastic desk piece and conversation starter. I love that it came with several accessories for demonstrations. The music feature works, but you do need to turn the volume on the MP3 player to max for the Tesla to play the music. No assembly was required. It was really well packed for shipping protection. I note that Joytech post a lot of very similar Tesla devices and their advertisements really do not distinguish between the various models. This was the most expensive of their options. They really need a table showing how the various models differ. This is a small tesla coil so while the sparks are quite visible they are only about an inch long. This is a relatively low frequency Tesla coil so touching the sparks could be painful. I have a much larger tesla coil which operates at a higher frequency and with proper technique I can safely touch it. I am reluctant to try touching the Joytech Tesla coil.

I really like this unit (says the Science Teacher)
The media could not be loaded. I am a middle school science teacher and this is perfect for my demo on electricity. I just got it so I can't speak for how durable it is, but putting it together was easy... just screw the coil in to the base. The power supply is a little cheap but unlike a lot of these tiny tesla coils this one at least has a built in on-off switch. It comes with a balanced spinner to show how streams of electric charges can push a physical object, as well as a pointy spike top, and a ball with a soldered wire top. It also comes with a packet of lamps to demonstrate wireless energy collection, as well as a cheap but perfectly good earphone cable to connect a sound source for the plasma speaker effect. The heat sink seems adequate, and this model has the plastic housing to keep you from accidentally touching it. I let it run for a good 2 minutes or so with no issues. See attached video to get a look at it in action.

Arc light stopped working...
Product worked great for about a month. The arc light was small but good enough for me. Then no more arc, just the small cooling fan and led light were left functioning. Quality is just not there so now to try to return it to the seller and see if I can get my money back. What a hassle. :-/

Works, but only conditionally
The media could not be loaded. It seems to work very well when there's a strong connection between the top piece and the coil. But with the spinning pieces, there seems to be a weak connection that makes the coil stop working sparatically and causes the spark to dissipate.

Cool but underwhelming.
I originally bought a different brand unit which broke but a replacement wasn’t in stock for 2 months. I thought this would be comparable and this one is actually slightly more expensive than the other brand. I got the Bluetooth enabled unit. The power level is so low, there’s no arc at all, just a kind of fuzz that emits from the needle. It barely lights the bulb it comes with using the needle top. The spinning toppers that it comes with look cool, but they don’t make up for the glaring issues with the product. This is *not* a plasma speaker/singing Tesla coil. There’s an actual speaker in the unit and the plasma barely moves in response to the sound. This is an expensive toy wrapped up to look like a decent Tesla coil.If you’re looking for a cool desk toy or unique gift for someone, this works. But a true geek would be disappointed in this unit.

Best Little Tesla Coil!
The media could not be loaded. This coil is very impressive. I decided to go with Joytech after reading many good reviews. I also chose this plug and play version rather than a DIY just because I didn’t have time to tinker with a kit. It came well packaged and in perfect order. It’s well constructed and looks great with the acrylic and blue combination. Works as stated, and a definite conversation piece. I used a splitter to add a little low end to the music as this coil acts like a treble speaker. Still w/o an added speaker it’s amazing to hear the music in waves. I used an old nano iPod for source.(*Note the video is without an extra speaker, just the sound from the coil)Best not to put any sensitive electronics in close proximity. While it didn’t damage anything, my T-Touch Tissot watch went wonky but all I had to do was reset it. Now I’m keeping that watch away from the coil while in use. It’ll also light up a variety of light bulbs from the utility drawer. If you’re looking for a prebuilt demonstration coil suitable for young adults as well as us old adults, you can’t go wrong. Definitely recommend!

Looks really nice...doesn't actually work.
The coil itself looked really good. The included power supply was one of the cheapest I've ever seen. Unit powered on, but would not play music. I tried different aux cords, different sources, different media on the sources and nothing. Saw some reviews stating that the aux cord had to be inserted just right to work but was never able to make it work. A+ for sleek looking design. F for completely failing as a "Music" tesla coil.
