Hello, this iHealth Track Bluetooth blood pressure monitor is designed to use with or without smartphones. You have to sync by pressing the M button to upload via Bluetooth 4.0 by launching the iHealth Myvitals app.

Can this bp cuff be calibrated by the user? And does it have a plug in option?

No and no. It has been very accurate. The cuff is easily applied and fits small to large users. Always sit in an upright position with feet flat on the floor and arm at heart level, resting for 5 minutes prior to taking the blood pressure for best results. 
If not becomes inaccurate, change the batteries first and then call the number provided if that does not correct the problem. I take my blood pressure 1-2 times daily and the batteries have lasted for approximately 9 months since I purchased the cuff.

I have hypotension how low does the bp read and how high does the pulse read? Does the box or book it comes with show any parameters?
