Old Harry’s Game – The Complete Series 1-7: A BBC Radio 4 Comedy Audio CD – Unabridged, 1 Feb. 2018

Love the series and it's wonderful to have all the episodes in good quality. It took a while to rip them to flac and mp3, being 21 CD's, but worth it for the please of hearing it out and about, as well as drifting off to sleep.I wasn't keen on the 21 CD's all stacked on a spindle that has a 20 disc capacity, but I won't be playing them, so not really a problem.

I have always enjoyed Andy Hamilton's humour and when I remembered about this old Radio 4 series, which I had on tape, I decided to treat myself. I have not been disappointed.

What can I say, brilliant writing, wonderful acting, hours of joy, and lots & lots of laughter.

To be honest I wasn't an immediate fan of Old Harry's Game. That was mostly to do with the title, which didn't really grab me.All that changed when I was channel hopping on my radio and I caught episode midway through the broadcast. After that there was no going back.It's very funny and very well written. It's also quite thought provoking on the nature of good, evil, God, the Devil and human beings.The main protagonists - Satan, the Professor and Thomas are really well played by Andy Hamilton, James Grout and Jimmy Mulville respectively.I only have 2 criticisms of this complete box set of series 1-7. Firstly it doesn't contain the second Christmas special or the Olympic special. Though omitting these 2 specials is a Devilish thing to do and probably worthy of Satan himself.Secondly, the packaging. I don't mind the CDs stacked on each other. It's the spindle that they are stacked on. It isn't really big enough to safely accommodate all the CDs.These 2 problems aside I fully recommend this series to listeners.

Have listened to late night broadcast on radio4 extra. Having consistently fallen asleep to this ( and cabin pressure) needed every episode to enjoy. Its not sleep inducing honestly

Andy Hamilton is a genius! Old Harry’s Game is so very funny and I never get bored of listening to the series. The Box Set is fantastic but the only downside is it only has one of the Christmas special’s (2002).I would definitely buy as a gift for someone.
