Lakeland Bread Maker Plus

It’s very time consuming and I was having to get up early so we could have it fresh for lunch. For a while now I have been considering a bread machine, however the expense and doubts about how good the bread would be caused concerns. I eventually bought the Lakeland bread maker plus. Having never used a bread maker before I was a little concerned about how noisy it was. I used the Amazon contact seller to ask questions, on a weekend, I was impressed when within a couple of hours I had an email from a very nice lady at Lakeland, I asked further questions by email and then she promptly called me. She said if I wasn’t happy I could return it and if I wanted to try it a couple more times that was fine.I have now made quite a few loaves of bread and have been delighted with all of them, as a bread maker I just used my own recipe and weighed it all out into the scales. As I make the bread overnight on the timer the noise is not an issue as we don’t hear it starting up and have great fresh bread for lunch. And if I have made one during the day my husband says it’s no louder than my stand mixer. I was worried as I heard the blade can leave large holes in the loaf, I haven’t found that and as long as I take the loaf out of the tin as soon as it’s finished baking there is just a very small slit in it and a little hole which I find quite acceptable. I have used the dispenser for a fruit loaf, the fruit was dispersed nice and evenly. I have only made the medium size loaf and wonder if there is room in the tin for a larger loaf. All in all this is a great machine for great price. I dare say there are quieter machines around but also at a greater expense. I am very pleased. Not only was the bread maker superbly packed the item even arrived two days earlier than we expected it to. The instruction manual was very clear. The bread made so far has been excellent. There is the possibility of using the machine to make other things..eg jam but we have not tried this yet. So far we are delighted with this product and very much hope it will give us long service.

Easy to use and maintain, makes delicious bread

My first bread maker. I wish I’d bought it years ago, but was intimidated by (misleading) online reports of whole wheat bread being difficult to make. Then the local farm shop stopped selling my regular 100% whole wheat bread and substituted their own flabby lightweight version, so I bit the bullet. I liked the look & size of the Lakeland machine, and the price. On arrival I thought the pan looked a bit small, but in fact the loaf size it turns out is perfect. My first loaf was a 100% whole wheat, following the recipe (mostly) in the accompanying book - it turned out perfectly, and really is way superior to the baker’s bread I’ve been buying for years! I made one change from the recipe - I used 2 teaspoons of muscavado sugar instead of the recommended 5 TABLESPOONS!!! of brown sugar. Surely a misprint! The whole process was so simple - carefully measure ingredients, add to the pan in the right order, choose the program and leave the machine to get on with it. Four hours or so later - delicious smell and perfect bread. Can’t believe I didn’t get into this yeas ago. My “proper” bread supply is now secure, and I’m looking forward to experimenting with other breads as well. I heartily recommend this machine.

Bought this to replace an older machine ( different make). I tried a few loaves, none were edible.What a lot of wasted ingredients .Also the hook for removing the paddle was missing. Returned for a refund.

This was our 1st bread maker. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Makes lovely bread and much more. It has a delay setting, ideal if you want to wake up to the smell of fresh bread (and who wouldn't)!
