My 7 yrs old grandchild keeps this at my house and uses the kit with great care. It has taught her about being responsible because its both interesting and learning, as well as lots of fun. Using the different colours under the light produces all sorts of patterns and inspires her art work. She likes the onion slide for that.She can set it up and use it on her own, and next step is to make her own slides.If you want to encourage a child to do things and learn from the results, then this is a practical and well made set up.

So dissatisfied with this product. Got it for my sons Christmas present. Cannot see anything with it and the products have all dried up.

A birthday gift in august

My 8 year old Grandaughter was so pleased with the microscope and found it easy to use . The quality of the product was good for the price paid and is an ideal first microscope .

Very disappointing. Cannot see anything, lenses misaligned. The gum media, sea salt, eosin dye and brine shrimp eggs as stated in the description was not included.

Glad i bought this on black Friday.Wouldn't pay full price for this.
