4+ years of use. Simple, reliable and loud! Inexpensive too.
Was looking for a while to secure my shed. Well, at least to add to the security feeling and peace of mind. It turned out to be better than expected and I mean this is not some sort of a dummy alarm, it is a pretty solid standalone device that reliably screams the sh..of anyone who is not entering the code within 10 seconds, especially if you don't expect it! Happened to me when I came back from holiday first time after setting it up and completely forgetting about it.Good stuff:1. Very simpleStick in 4 batteries inside, hang on the wall, although you can keep anywhere you want. I'd recommend hanging it as it will prevent anyone from just throwing it out, smashing it of the ground, etc. Then, super simple set up of 4 digit code on big, convenient buttons and voila, you're all set.2. ReliableIf you've set it up in a proper place, without motion detector being blocked, then it will work like clockwork. I've tested it multiple times, trying to go slow, crawl, etc. but it is sensitive and went off every single time. Very good, because this is exactly what a motion based alarm should do :)It's hard to judge on practical maximum range the motion detector works, especially that mine is in a relatively small shed, but I'm pretty sure it will work well in anything except really large open spaces and bad sensor positioning.3. Loud100 db might not tell you much, but I can tell you upon testing, after first try I went to look for my noise canceling headphones because the scream was so loud and annoying that it induced me panic despite broad daylight test in my own shed.4. Batteries4+ years of use and I never changed the batteries. Yes, most of the time it obviously sits quiet but there are devices that discharge the batteries very fast doing nothing. This is not the case and happy days, as an alarm is not something you'd want to often change batteries or seek new ones around the house right when you need to arm it up.To summarise, in my opinion and also considering the price, it is a very good, simple in operation and maintenance, yet effective alarm for places like sheds and garages.Hope it helps in your decision making. Stay well and safe! Cheers

Yale shed alarm recommended
The Yale shed alarm is a handy cheap little gadget that just adds another layer to the security of your garage/shed etc.Very easy to setup and input your choice of four digit code. Sensor is pretty good at detecting movement and alarm loud enough to put off a would be thief. Highly recommended product.

Worth it
Why not get this for your shed or garage? This alarm is so simple and so cheap, it would be silly not to get one as an added security measure.I got this for my lock up as it is the simpleset way to add an alarm deterrant. The alarm systems that use a sensor stuck on the door/window, that once moved from the alarm system acitvate it, just wouldn't quite work on my garage door. This Yale alarm, lets me put it anywhere I wan't. The sound level is loud. At 100db it would be enough to wake you up or irritating enough to put someone off.You of course need to put this somewhere that would activate it early, which then means its position can also make it obvious. So positioning it well is probably the hardest part.Something I don't like about this alarm is that when it's activated it sends off a loud beep and flashes a red light once. This will happen if everytime you go in to your own shed/garage/lock up which is a nice reminder that you have an alarm to disarm but this feature also tells someone who's property it isn't, that there's an alarm and can also locate where it is from the red light beep. I have put tape over the light area.I also don't like that when I enter my code each button beeps loudly. I don't really want to tell everyone I feel the need to put an alarm in my garage.I still think this alarm is 5 stars, just because for under £20 it could be the deterrant that sends someone on there way. My solution to the alarm being easily found is to buy a second one and have 2 alarms get actived from very separate postiions, that way one is bound to be going off if they bother looking for the other. This still works out as cheap security. The operation is simple to use, to set a code, to arm it and to disarm it. You have 30 seconds from arming it to lock up and 10 seconds from activating it when entering to disarm it with your pin.Great, inexpensive alarm.

Does what it says
I've given 5 stars to Start based on the ease of setting this up.Recently my close had been riddled with theft and garage burglaries, people are being hit almost every single week.We wanted something discreet and LOUD, although we have nothing of value we wanted everyone to hear an alarm if our garage got hit.Set up took roughly 10mins (drilling holes, putting wall plugs in, and setting the device up.We tested it and can confirm it is very loud. We placed it at the entrance of our garage on the wall to cover more motion and so nobody could avoid it.I hope to never hear the alarm at 2am but having It there is peace of mind.

Potential fire hazard . . .
The Yale alarm worked fine with four batteries installed. It also is supposed to work with a 4.5V center positive polarity power supply; unfortunately, the Yale alarm immediately became hot and started melting using that method! The power supply was immediately disconnected from an electrical outlet since I wasn't going to wait and see if the Yale alarm actually caught on fire.If you only plan to use batteries, you'll probably be fine.
