The Chicken Health Handbook, 2nd Edition: A Complete Guide to Maximizing Flock Health and Dealing with Disease

This really is the best book on chicken health I have ever come across. I have a few books on chickens and I have found this far and beyond the most helpful book in solving the mystery of what is wrong with one of the flock and how to help her or him. Some books are far too basic, this goes into depth in an understandable way and covers a vast amount and it is easy to find what you're looking for and has diagrams. I highly recommend this book for chicken keepers old and new.

The definitive reference book for chicken keepers! This book has been really handy for me particularly, as I am fairly new to chicken keeping, have ex-bats and wanted to have a reference guide to all issues and problems that could crop up. Excellent chapters on nutrition, disease, and good bio-security practice and diagnosis of health issues. Up-to-date and concise.

I found it very useful diagnosing my chickens health! I was googling for hours and then found what I was looking for in minutes with this book! must have when keeping chickens.

Quite a technical book packed with detailed info. I especially found the feeding regimes interesting although Amercian research based. Therre is an explanation of the industrial raising of chooks and I loathe 'factory' farming methods and NEVER buy chicken UNLESS it's free range and organic. And therein lies another myth, organic is simply LESS chemicals, not none....It would be impossible, given that birds get sick and have ot be treated with chemicals or they may die, to be 100% organic without welfare issues. I recently started sheep farming with a supposedly organic flock....joke. The local inspector dropped in unexpectedly but didn't even check the feedstufffs or look over the fence at the flock, let alone test them! My concern, as has always been the case, is how do we the consumer EVER really know what we are eating unless we raise it ourselves.

Bought as a present for a family member so under of the content (but all online reviews saying this is the author to go for!) but really impressed with the quality, even though the book was listed as used it doesn’t even look like it’s been opened.

Love this book, has everything you could ever need to know about chicken health in it (not necessarily a beginner's book as is very detailed)

Fantastic book very easy to understand and for the lage scale poultry keeper such as myself it has evey chicken health issues you need to know about.

It has a lot of information about chiken common diseases and describes tips and hints to solve it. Great buy.

excellent book

I've purchased both Audibles and printed versions. Audibles is great to listen & learn while doing monotonous daily tasks. I've added page tabs to the printed version where I've found the information pertinent to my flocks specific needs.

I've bought a veterinary book with diseases in animals and my complaint was that there are no images or illustrations that would help with diagnosis or common issues. This book has illustrations and images that quickly help to diagnose and fight any health issues chickens might have. It goes from chicks to adult chickens, how to mitigate health issues and what to use (vaccines, medicine etc.) without relying only on local available products (e.g. US/UK books that suggest only local medicine/products). I think this is a good book for both beginners and for experienced chicken handlers, as it serves as a good refresher when chicken health issues arise.

Incredible information! This is a must have for all chicken owners. The information is like a reference if you are ever in a situation where you need to know, this has easy to find information about every ailment, every situation, everything about chickens. I love this book and it has helped me in tough situations several times. I highly recommend for anyone with chickens.
