The top is fine, the wood base is on unfinished soft pine or box wood so unhygienic food; it is impossible to clean especially the end grain where the track for for the lid had been routed out. The base is thin wood. It warped when it got wet.

Ideal for keeping cheese fresh in the 'fridge, May need to cut off the corners of a large block before it will fit exactly.Easy to cut on the wooden base.

I actually use it as a cheese board and cover and it works quite well.

Is too big and look really cheap. The wood has not been treated or varnished.
