Best Choice Products 2-Piece Lighted Penguin Family, 3ft Pop-Up Outdoor Christmas Holiday Decoration w/ 150 LED Lights, Multicolored Lights - Red

I saw these online and hesitated to purchase them at $89 because I already had 3 other similar pop up style penguins. However, I went from a 10 ft porch to a 40 ft porch so I had the room. Plus, they store flat which makes them ideal for someone like me who has an indoor/ outdoor holiday decor hoarding issue. ;) Well I waited to see if the price would drop on either Target or Wal-Mart online and instead it sold out and my heart sank :( It was also sold out on Amazon, but I had it in my ‘saved for later’ cart. When it was available I immediately purchased this set and I’m so happy I did. This set is slightly larger and more oblong (egg) shaped compared to my other more round shaped penguins. The little colored light strand is detachable/ can be attached to one or both penguins with included metal hooks. I chose to have each of my penguins hold either end of the light strand and that upped the cuteness level even more! Set up was fairly easy with the big penguin, but the flippers are connected into the center of the penguin via a light strand which makes connecting it to the center metal pole base somewhat difficult. You really have to line the arm holes up before trying to attach the arms. The smaller penguin had some sort of metal defect which kept the arm piece from sliding into the metal base. I eventually took it apart and attached the metal base to the metal arm without having the excess penguin body in the way just to see if it was possible. Thankfully, it was, although I had to force the two pieces together with quite a lot of pressure which made me worry I would hurt myself or the metal bars. Once I was able to put it together a few times without the body in the way it was much easier to put it together with the body in place. Overall, this set is so incredibly adorable and will bring my family, as well as my neighborhood years of holiday magic to come. They may very well be my favorite part of my penguin themed porch! -shhh don’t tell my other 4 penguins I said that ;). That’s right, I purchased another smaller penguin this year as well! ;)

Theses penguins are adorable, my kids love them. They’ve been going out to see them every day. They look awesome at night, the lights are well placed and the penguins show up great. The quality of the product seems solid. Though unclear how many seasons they would last. I think if it snowed or rained I would cover them to prevent damage. They were easy to setup and then will be easy to collapse for storage. Very pleased overall, much cuter than many of the blowup products out there. Note we added the tiny pengiun nightlight to represent our newborn :)

Adorable, festive, and easy to put together! Makes a cute statement without being too ostentatious or gimmicky. A few threads were shedding on one of the scarves, but otherwise it's great quality! Comes with good instructions, stakes, and a nice storage bag. The cord to plug it in is fairly long, too.

This company amazed us. 25 yrs of Christmas yard art. This is the best quality we’ve found. Arrived so easy to put together, looks so beautiful they didn’t even make it to the yard, kept them in our entry all season. Gold completely flat & include a lovely bag to store them in. Hope this company produces many other styles of yard art because we r so impressed.

I would give these a 3 but it won't let me give below a 4. Lol The material is pretty flimy and tears easily. Besides that they look cute and they do come with their own bag for storage. Easy to put up and take down. I'd be surprised if they last more than 2 seasons.

Updating my review (11/2025) - I bought these last year. They were cute and looked the part until used outside. You really need to stake these down or else they topple over even with the small ground stakes provided. The welds are not very strong and the little penguin's arm broke. But, when I looked at it, it looks as if it was already broken and then hot glued on from the factory. I used some small zip ties and have it in place for this year. The lights are also very finnicky. I found that the reason the yellow bulb didn't work was because one of the wires was not fixed properly and was loose. You can get it to work, but it's not connected so it won't stay on. The main wires to the penguins also has a loose wire. This was evident last year, but I was able to position just right so that the wire was connected and the lights stayed lit. So, with these quality issues. I've downgraded from 4 to 3 stars. I'm just hoping the penguins last this season at least so that I get 2 seasons out of the set. Original review: The penguins are as cute as you would imagine. I read the descrpition and they meet all expectations. I am mostly happy with the purchase and would give 5 stars, but the yellow light on the end of the strand is not working. I have reached out to the seller to see if there is a way to rectify this. (The seller took care of the issue when I originally purchased and reached out to them about the non-working light).

I have only had them about a week, but right off the bat, I loved how small the shipping box was for the size of the decoration. I love that these collapse vertically so the storage space is just the circumference of the larger penguin. My other yard decoration has a hard frame and splits in half lengthwise so is the size of the outline of the largest piece, so it takes a lot of room and has to be zip tied together each year. These penguins are my new favorite outdoor decoration. First off, they are completely adorable. My daughter thought they were almost too good to be outside because the material was so nice! (Silky soft curly texture like a labradoodle. My other lawn decoration looks nice but stuff could snag on it.) I checked the instructions that came with it and showed her they were meant to be outdoors. There were instructions, but it was pretty intuitive how to put together, I didn’t really need them. They came together quickly, and have held up beautifully even though we have had heavy rain and high winds these past several days. I’m moving away from the inflatables…these look good day and night, and are less hassle. We keep our inflatables collapsed during the day, so if it rains during the day, puddles collect on top and they need assistance before inflating at night. Plus the high winds can knock them over. These penguins have a porous fabric so the wind and rain go through them easily.

These 2-piece lighted outdoor penguins are surprisingly sturdy and hold up really well outside. Once set up, they feel stable and don’t tip easily, even with wind or weather. The stakes help keep them secure in the ground, which gives great peace of mind. I love that they stay in place while still looking bright and festive. Such a cute and reliable outdoor decoration.
