Steelcase 46296179 Leap Plus Office Desk Chair with 500lb Capacity, Meadow Green Fabric

This chair is very comfortable, but it is also huge. It is very wide. You can fit two normal people in this chair. It is the best office chair I have every had, but it better be for the price. You get what you pay for. It is worth it.

I'm 6'1 and 265-270 pounds. I initially ordered the Leap and thought the chair was good but it felt very confining for my size. The Leap Plus isn't really heavily advertised (Steelcase 46296179 Office Chair, Blue) so it took a review to get me to seek it out. Amazon has the leap plus for a few hundred dollars cheaper than the Steelcase website. I got the chair and it's identical to the normal Leap but is a much better fitted chair for someone of my size. Is it super plush comfortable? Nope. But it's the kind of comfort that allows me to work all day in this chair without feeling sore. It's a practical comfort. I also don't get hot in it like I do the Lazy Boy faux leather type chairs. I like this chair. The price is insane, but I figured 'how much is my comfort worth'? BY THE WAY, make sure you BUY FROM AMAZON. If you buy from a 3rd party, you'll likely get a refurb or a 'mistake' chair. I'm assuming many of the bad reviews here are for that reason.

I thought that if I spent this much money on an industry leading ergonomic chair, I would at least get what I paid for. Wrong! Out of the box, the height adjustment lever is not working! I pull it up, it hits some plastic piece on the way, makes a clicking noise, but the chair does not adjust up. I have to pull it with a much higher force and almost to the point of bending for the chair to SLOWLY move up. Another defect - on the left side the seat is rubbing against the metal frame, so when I adjust the seat forward or backward, it leaves a huge scratch on the seat's plastic bottom frame. It came that way from the factory! With the deep scratch! The back lean-backward stop is too limiting - I cannot lean back as much as I would have liked and as much as the videos show it should allow. The lower back firmness knob seemingly does nothing that I can feel. Either it is also broken, or it is just a useless gimmick. In summary, a huge disappointment with all the defects considering the high price. Steelcase should be ashamed having such poor quality control. To top it all off, Steelcase customer service does not pick up the phone. The call goes to voicemail during business hours, and they still have not called back 5 hours later. If you can't trust industry-leading brands, who CAN you trust?

No assembly required came.out of the box ready to go. I am a bigger guy and the chair is great, very comfortable, extremely easy to adjust and one of the best purchases I made this year.

The chair is amazing, comfortable, roomy and sturdy. It’s definitely worth the price tag if you are spending many hours at the computer working from home or gaming (or both!)I had to take a star away because they use FedEx to deliver and the delivery experience was horrible. The shipper has no impact on the delivery but they do choose to use FedEx so they are partially responsible. If they used a better delivery company it would help.

Just take it out of the box and start using it. Comfortable with many adjustment options. Well built chair.

This chair delivered sooner than stated which was great and the chair is incredibly comfortable. I hesitated because of the price but was recommended by my brother in law and he was right on. I should have bought one of these 10 years ago like he did. Worth every dollar!

Received today. This is the standard leap. Not the Leap plus. Model # 46296179 is the standard size Leap. Confirmed with Steelcase customer support.
