DIG-01 0 - 1" Digital Micrometer

This Digital Micrometer may not last long in an industrial setting but in a personal work shop or garage- it will do just fine. The tool includes a spanner wrench for zero in adjustments. No directions except for a 'reading example' diagram so people learning should visit youtube for calibrating and reading. The Vernier scale is easy to read and lines up well to the thimble. And the ratchet / stop speeder works smooth and keeps from over tightening. With this tool, it would be wise to have a feeler gauge to verify measurements with known thicknesses.Negatives: 1. Digital readout is off by .0005 to the Vernier scale (example: at zero, the thousandth place is between 0 and 1). 2. Unknown if damage would occur to digital readout when performing proper care & maintenance by unscrewing thimble to check for spindle nut tightness and oiling.Overall, after calibration this Micrometer has done its job and so far I've made over 50 measurements without any problems. It's not perfect but worth the money. With proper care and maintenance I can see this tool lasting a while in my shop.

I did use this crap for only one week and the digital display stop working.Lucky me that I have another micrometer.

I was a bit disappointed that the numbers are NOT centered and fall on the bottom of the window where they are a little difficult to read, but I can say that our QC department was able to calibrate it for shop use where precision is important. These will do fine until I can afford something better. If you have the money to spend on something better, then I suggest that you do. But these will be okay if you're on a budget.

This was great for the price, but it would be better if it had metric measurements. I compensated by calculating the ratio manually.

I bought this thing because the price was right.It's one of those things that sits until you need it, then you NEED it.I used it recently for two valve jobs on motorcycles.It worked as promised. I'd recommend it to anyone.
