Got these to rewire a couple of replacement soldering iron handles to make them work with my soldering station, they worked great! Recommend a set of helping hands or similar, as the working area is a little tight. They seem sturdy enough and well made for my purposes.

not a standard ham or CB connector

Did the job for me but I think I would like the larger GX16 better.

The main limitation of these is wire gauge: anything larger than about 22 gauge is not really supported. In particular with the female cable end connectors the overall conductivity does not support any mid to moderately high current applications. Like, say anything beyond about 100mA at 15V would enter the "sketchy" area IMO.Other than that these work OK and one of the big benefits is locking. So overall for my application MEH is the answer. In future I'll look to other solutions for this. But if your requirements are low power / low current and are OK with the small conductor limitation, these are certainly cost effective.

These connectors are great, I used them in a DIY project modding a CRT into a (not great) X/Y scope. the connector plugs screw into the plug bodies, and while they like to try and crossthread, they're very secure once they're properly in place. The plug bodies also have a tension relief system built in in the form of a clamp you can tighten around your cable, which is very helpful.The ports are keyed panel-mount ports, although there's no way to orient the keying without just tightening them down in the orientation you want (a little orienting tab would've been nice). The plugs slide into place quite nicely, and can be screwed down for a secure connection.
