We got these for a 18 month year old. I’m a huge Star Wars fan, and I wanted to get my son a light saber. This is a set of two “light sabers.” They are cheaply made, but for my purposes they were exactly right. Thus, I have given five stars. These have provided lots of fun for us, and his face when he first lit one up was absolutely *priceless*.If you are looking for something movie accurate, sturdy, or for serious cosplay then you need to look elsewhere. Seriously.If you are looking for a pair of affordable light sabers for your toddler to run around with, for him to play with his cousins, or to just goof around with, these will fit the bill.

These have been perfect for battles with my three year old. The ability to quickly change colors has my child concocting all sorts of scenarios for us to play out. Though they have proven to stand up to some hefty hits, the best feature is that the sound FX can be shut off. My kiddo even makes sure to shut the FX off when we're not playing since lightsabers "don't make sounds in the movies when they're not battling." Good for the kiddos and parents.

The birthday boy loved his gift and all the kids enjoyed playing with him. Good quality as they took quite the beating and didn’t break or stop working.

The only issue is that there are two buttons and when you hit the lower one (at bottom, which happens a lot on accident) you get a dueling metal sword sound followed by the saber turning off. This happens frequently due to its placement

There are three pieces to this. Two lightsabers and a connecting piece. So far no issue and pretty fun to play with but the sound can get annoying.

The blade section is actually 2 pieces, a clear outer shell and an inner defused shell to defuse the light. Sadly you can see the hot spots of each LED, but it's a cheap toy, so that's normal. It's WAY more durable than I expected. The inner defused shell is extremely sturdy for being cheap plastic. I took them apart because I only bought them for the blades to use on another project, but the handles are actually really good too. The only real problem I had was that the screws immediately stripped the plastic so it was impossible to screw back together. I ended up gluing the handles back together without the blades in them because I liked the look of them, and they might be good for other uses. One weird thing, there's a second button near the bottom of the handle. All it does is some kind of demo mode where it flashes and makes a few noises, then turns off. It's IMPOSSIBLE to hold them without setting off one of the buttons. The top one is the main on/off button. So it'll randomly either turn off on you, or do the demo thing, which also when finished, turns it off. The connection when putting them back to back is also actually a lot stronger than I expected. Most of these would just break when swung around and played with in a fashion similar to how Darth Maul spins his around, but this one stayed perfectly in place the whole time. Sadly this ALSO causes you to hit the buttons..a lot..Oh well. Honestly not bad. For off brand cheap stuff, this is far better than what you normally find.

These are great gifts for younger kids. Older (9-14) will probably end up breaking these with hard swings, but for $20 they are very, very durable, especially for younger jedis. They lasted us about a year before the green one's light stopped working. They also auto-power off after about 10 seconds of pressing the on button which means the batteries last forever. it also comes with a joint where you can make a double saber which my son loves.
