Works well
Very nicely finished item. Trims cases accurately enough for bulk ammo, within 0.002 give or take. I had the most repeatable results when using this after sizing, pressing firmly and rotating the case in the collet. I think the tolerances might be slightly not loose enough so if you don't rotate the case you might get uneven trimming. For the money, 5 stars. Makes trimming go much quicker when good enough is good enough.

works great!
Needed a faster way to trim cases, but I was having a hard time justifying the 500-600 dollar price tag on the high end trimmers with motors. Stuck this one in an old harbor fright drill press, laying on its side, and it works very quickly. After making a slight adjustment to the cut length, I trimmed 5 cases and measured, three were dead on, two outliers were .002" off. Good enough for what I'm doing! I use mixed range brass, but have a pretty good and consistent full length sizing setup. Definitely recommending this one if you have a lot of brass to get through.

Inconsistent cuts without perfect technique, very well made though
Such a great idea and beautifully machined but if you don't use absolute perfect technique and precision each time, you can get uneven cuts. It's not Derraco's fault though, it's due to the collet needing a looser fit around the shoulder area in order to accommodate a wide range of brass manufacturers, which requires some looser tolerances to account for it. Sadly this has the consequence of uneven cuts if you don't insert your brass perfectly straight, every single time. It's not just the Ugly SRT either, this goes for all shoulder referenced trimmers, even the expensive Giraud trimmer. Many F class and PRS shooters make their own custom collets using their barrel reamer dimensions to solve for it, which just isn't practical for the majority of reloaders. If you’re just making range ammo this will work great for you, but if you want absolute precision, I wouldn’t recommend it. Derraco makes great stuff and the quality is always on point so again, this isn't a dig at them, just the sad reality of shoulder referenced trimmers that are made to fit a wide range of brass.

One of my all time favorites
Works as advertised, as long as you size your brass consistently, in which you should be doing anyway. Did 300 556 the day I got this, and they were all within 0.001-2 with each other. Only con is doing it this way can be fatiguing on your fingers, but this is one of the quickest ways to trim without spending 4-500$.

Wonderful Trimmer - Buy It
I have some calibers that I am still using the Lee Case trimmers on, but they can be rough on the case neck. I needed something that was close to the other style that I have which are similar to this design that actually micrometer adjust but are no longer made. Enter the Ugly SRT. This case trimmer has everything that I was looking for in a trimmer and the setup is very easy and I bought the one with the .222-.223 insert. I set the trimmer up per the instructions with an already trimmed piece of brass, trimmed a case that was over sized and It cut right to 1.690".UPDATE: Just received three more of these trimmers (30-30, 300 BO and 30-06) and they are perfect as with the first one I received. My plan is to convert the 30-06 collet to work with 8x57 Mauser and Cheng has been wonderful with helping me through that process. From this day forth, these will be my go to trimmers.I just ordered three more and will set these up using the feeler gauge.

Terribly inconsistent
Same brass brand all once fired trims anywhere from 1.755 to 1.736. Went through set up multiple times, reset, adjusted micrometer same outcome. Maybe I got a lemon, but it’s going back.I’m not sure how the other guy got .001 accuracy but the one I got won’t even come close

Sloppy tolerances, but still works
I bought the 5.56mm trimmer. I’ve processed about 600 cases with this trimmer and also own two WFT’s from Lil Crow Gunwerks. (300BLK and .308) I used this trimmer with a 7x12 hobby lathe. Some observations:1) the fit of 5.56 casings into the neck of the trimmer feels sloppy, but the caliper says the results are consistent.2) the microadjustment works well as long as you own a feeler gauge.3) This comes with an unbranded HSS cutter that left a lot of burrs on the brass. My WFT’s generally are cut sharp and fairly clean. Swapping out with a sharp carbide cutter would be a reasonable modification.4) I’m happy with the option to buy other caliber conversions in the future.
