YES, THESE ARE AS GREAT AS THEY SAY!
I am just starting into using tarps for my camping set-up. So far so good. There are lots of great videos to help in this process. Truly, the quality and ease of use of poles that one chooses are extremely helpful in not only learning but also achieving efficient set-ups. I am familiar with a lot of gear and can pretty quickly recognize poor quality/design versus something well made to last and to work without "work-arounds". As soon as I received these poles and began to play with them a bit, I was very pleased to see that the design is simple and the workmanship is quality. They are sturdy and extremely easy to use. They make finding the perfect height needed as easy as anyone could want. Tightening them for the desired height is also very easy, intuitive, and one can be confident that the poles will stay put as you adjust them to be. Comparing to other products built with non-telescoping design, I was sure that this style would eliminate frustrating readjustments that require more steps as other kinds of poles require. To see first hand the obvious quality of these poles, I was glad that I chose them in spite of slight additional cost of them over some of the other options. For sure, these poles eliminate any questions regarding how the poles will hold up and how steady they will be. The bottoms do not slip when used on the ground and the top cover is easy to remove and replace. I feel like a pro with these and am glad to have them as part of my set-up. I highly recommend them.

Great heavy duty
If you need good tarp poles these will not disappoint. They are tall strong and well built for durable use. Not for a backpacker or lightweight use. These things are stout and totally worth their weight.

Top notch, high-quality, great tarp/tent poles. Very versatile.
Top notch, great tarp/tent poles. High quality & very versatile. I have used these over & over for several years on camping trips. They are strong (for telescoping poles). With the rubber cap, they can be used in the center of tarps without puncture. They will support a lot of weight. I see a few reviews that show poles broken in half. These are hollow, light, telescoping poles. If substantial horizontal pressure is put on them - yes, at some point they will snap - like any other thin horizontal pole. They are not solid pipes and not intended to be. They will likely withstand forces that other similar telescoping poles will not. If you intend to use them fully extended in 20+ mile an hour winds at the beach or in the desert, then you can expect them to break. Its not a flaw. Get yourself some pipe or conduit if you need that kind of support; and/or add more guy lines. For supporting tarps & tents while camping and keeping sun or rain off of you, these work great and will last. The only problem I've ever had was the telescoping function 'sticking' after the poles become muddy/dirty. This is to be expected and is easily solved by cleaning with water. I should also mention that I've never had any problem with the telescoping sections 'slipping' at all.

6 mo. Addendum -Probably the best tarp poles available - but pricey
Addendum after 6 mo usage: These poles have proven very versatile around the campsite. To date, I have not experienced any mechanical problems, bends, or rust. At this point, I have purchased a total of six poles and plan to add another set. So I am satisfied. Recently, use poles to hold up a 10'x10' fly. Heavy rains that night. When breaking camp, noticed that several of the poles had appreciable water inside. Needed to remove rubber foot boot and drain poles overnight. Am considering drilling a weep hole in foot boot to allow drainage. Also, to facilitate carrying & storage, purchased a 42" canvas bag (Gator GPA-SPKRSPBG-42DLX). Will hold 8 poles. Quite an investment, but worth it to have comfort & convenience when camping. Wish I had bought them much earlier in my camping career. I do a lot of "dry" camping. And, the need for a tarp fly to keep sun and rain off the picnic table is really desirable. No problem finding a suitable lightweight coated nylon tarp. But the poles ..... aargh. First, I tried surplus 4 ft military tent poles - Required lots of modification and were large, heavy, and hard to store. (But strong). Next, I tried el cheapo adjustable steel poles - worked AOK until some rain. Rusted, crimped, ugly to handle. Threw them away. So now I am going to try the Green Elephant poles. Pros - at the lowest section they are 1.75 in diameter and should be pretty strong. They deploy and adjust instantaneously. Lightweight and store easily. And, they come with a carrying sack. Cons - hearsay is that I will have trouble with the clamping mechanisms and the tips may rust. Ehhhh. Biggest negative is the price .... because don't just need two, you need four or six for a typically fly. That's pretty good money for a rain tarp. I would like to see the vendor offer sets of four and six at some decent discount per pole.

Their products are good; their customer service better!
Broke on third campout- It was a fairly windy day, but early on one of these EXPENSIVE poles broke right in half!! When I called (and wrote!) the company they contacted me and sent, free of charge, a brand new full set to replace my one broken pole. I believe they are a company who stands behind their products.

Holding power, did someone say elephant?
Amazing! I bought the 4-pack of these for a large tarp. They have withstood loads of rain fall and 20 knot winds with gusts up to 35, not just once, but over the last two months. Fast, sturdy, strong, easy to adjust and an incredibly firm hold. Oh, did I say that the tarp is 16 x 24 feet. I have got para-cord tie downs and use these to ensure a good drip angle and to avoid a wind sail. I wish I had 4 more. If there was an option to buy six it would be nice; allowing for the corner’s and a peak but I’ve made the four work with no problems and minor tweaks. All in all a great product and worth it.

Solid Choice
I purchased a set of tarp poles for less than 1/2 the price and guess what? “They were less than 1/2 the quality”. These Green Elephant Poles are well made and should last a lifetime, the extra money spent will be forgotten long after the good quality is remembered. “2 thumbs up”

Amazing! Get the 4 pack!
Amazing poles. Buy the 4 pack as you will find ways to use them. They securely lock, have a lightning cover on the top, super strong. I used them for my tarp and was really impressed. You will regret only getting the 2 pack so get the 4 pack. They don’t take up much space when they’re in the bag. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

Great poles for camping
Very nicely built. No issues with them staying in place once they are extended

Solid product...almost like these people have been camping before
These are everything I needed in a tarp pole. I didn't even think of it, but the caps on top enabled my structure to survive an unexpected windstorm by making sure the tarp didn't lift off the pole.
