I knew when I opened the box that this was quality at a competitive price. It has few reviews so I'm guessing it is relatively new to the market. If your search has led you to this item you are in luck. This is the fifth mandoline I purchased to try and replace my 20 year old model, which I found was better than all of the replacements, except for this one. Zkiron really put some thought into this design, which includes several advances. This device makes me glad that I did not accept the problems with the others, and kept looking. Here are the differences that make it special, and better than those costing triple the price. * Very stable- when you pull down the back legs the rubber feet lock the unit in place. * The cutting blade slides out, which means you can clean and sharpen it as needed. * The sliding height adjustment works smoothly and provides more control of thickness than most. The ones with the wheel in the middle are clunky to use, and the bulky undercarriage required for this configuration is hard to clean. * The dicers come up through holes in the feeder platform which enable the platform to stay close to the blade. Most of the others have the slicer come up as a unit through a gap between the platform and the cutter. This gap allows the food item to dip lower and create resistance to your cut. This causes uneven pressure which makes it difficult to push thru smoothly, and as a result the cuts are different thicknesses. It also enables a close connection between the platform and the blade which reduces the chance of cutting yourself when not in use. * The sliding holder is genius. It's the only one that locks onto a track and it works better than all the rest.. It enables a smoother cut of large items that would not fit into most other devices' narrow chamber. Tip: Stay away from the V-shaped ones. You might think as I did that two blades working together would reduce the drag, but I found it to be just the opposite.

Husband loves it easy to use

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Look no further - this is the mandolin to purchase. Easy to use, easy to clean with warm soapy water. Use a bottle brush in order to prevent getting cut. The blade is sharp enough, vegetables run through the blades without trouble. I use a protective glove and have never cut myself, just my personal preference. It's easy to change cutting thickness or slicing choices.

The mandolin it's hard to handle and the blade came out of place , while beiyin use, and created a bad cut on my thumb. No recommended at all

Es de material sólido buena calidad.. pero nada que ver con la marca que ofrecen en imagen ZKIRON por ningún lado tiene esa palabra la mandolina, solo la caja eso no es marca si no está en el producto aunque por el precio vale la pena, aún no la he probado

More dangerous to use

Blade is pretty sharp. Dial in your thickness and slice away. I got it for slicing cucumbers for pickling. Waffle edges like the ones you buy at the store. Don't know if it's faster than cutting them by hand but consistency is what I was after

Received in broken condition

VERY sharp. Works well and doesn’t slide when using. Even cut raw beets
