extremely disappointing
I've had my machine about three months I was extremely happy with it at first, New York breakfast Ese pod being the best coffee I've tasted in a long while. I de scaled it regularly but lately the crema of my preferred coffee is non existence! I rang dualit and although customer service was really good I was advised to squeeze the bag to soften the coffee. I'm going to give it another de scale and if I have the same result I'll be back on the phone to them.....so disappointing

SO BAD!!!
terrible! But to set the scene: We like our coffee and we're not precious about coffee tasting but have travelled enough to know good from bad. we previously had a lavazza machine which packed it in after a few years and chose this model as it gave us loads of options from capsules to ground and reviews were OK so thought we'd give it a go.first one arrived and a foot was missing so it didn't sit flat and the casing was separated on the side. It was replaced within the week no questions asked. thank you to the seller.no manufacturing problems with the second one so we filled it up and gave it a go. Tried a few different blends but no denying that it makes TERRIBLE coffee!!! To be fair taste is a relative thing so to give you a comparison all 3 types of coffee which I have tried tasted little better than the filter coffee one expects to receive in a truck stop. Even if it made good coffee it has three other problems. 1. It's hugely noisy. 2. It vibrates like you wouldn't believe. I can understand an expresso cup jumping around on a small coffee machine a little but even our earthenware mugs need to be held in place! 3. You have to clean the thing out after every cup and I mean pull it all apart and get coffee all over your hands. You need to flush it through as well if you want to change capsule type because there is so much creme left inside the unit from the previous pour that you may as well be mixing them (but they all taste the same anyway). I can't believe that this model actually made it through to production stage. We're going to buy another lavazza machine and chalk this one up to experience.Save your money and don't even go there with this unit.

Almost perfect
I have withheld a star because I find it difficult to close the lid when I use the adaptor for ESE pads - when correctly positioned the lid does close, but its a bit of a struggle to get it "just so" - I wouldn't wish to apply too much pressure. No problem using the NX capsules and certainly if you use the refillable Coffeeduck capsules it is a whole lot cheaper than using the commercially available filled ones. The choice of coffee is then entirely yours. The conventional espresso option works OK, but I have so far found that there is a lot of water in the holder when it is removed from the machine and therefore messy to empty - may be something to do with my tamping - more experimentation needed.

Excellent
This is a Christmas present and I have to wait before I make full use of it.

High hopes, shattered by three machines in a row. Do not buy. It's a dud.
Every one of the machines we've tried -- the first one and then its 2 replacements -- has failed within a week, if it has ever even worked. When it has worked momentarily, the coffee is hardly hot. With our 3rd machine, I had to try 7 pods before I got anything like a proper coffee out of it, and in any case it was tepid. I have assiduously followed all the instructions to the letter. I have pored over the step-by-step. I have cleaned and descaled. I have rung Customer Services several times and followed every single one of their tips and instructions, have tried a replacement filter holder, have tried massaging the coffee pods (a tip to remember for other machines -- the coffee gets dense in storage). Basically it's a dud machine -- no wonder I can't find it on their website any more and no wonder it's drastically on offer wherever it's being sold. I am about to have my final conversation with Dualit to argue for a refund, which they've refused me so far because they are "not the original supplier". Unhappily for me, the original suppliers have in their turn told me that it's Dualit's responsibility. If Dualit don't refund me I'm going to make quite a fuss. I'll repost here to update on whether they do the right thing and sort me out or not!
