The Original Steamer Basket for Pressure Cooker Accessories 8qt [3qt 6qt avail] Compatible with Instant Pot Accessories 8 qt, Ninja Foodi, Silicone Handle, Instapot 8 Quart

I bought this to upgrade from my OXO steamer basket for use in my Instant Pot. However, it is so much more!!! First, it fits the IP 8 qt DUO perfectly. The silicone handle stays cool and the silicone feet keep it from sliding on the counter or scratching the pot. Unlike the steamer basket, you can easily lift it out of the pot and not lose your food or have to pick pieces out individually. This is the perfect gadget for eggs and potatoes in the IP! And no more trying to awkwardly pour stock indgredients through a strainer - you just lift the basket and are left with nothing but broth. The mesh is a great size. I bought this for my IP but already used it to filter my elderberry syrup and I’m going to line it with cheesecloth for making Greek yogurt. I wish I would have seen this when I first bought my IP! UPDATE: I ordered a second basket which arrived in the box shown in the photos. Stuff happens but how a company handles issues says a lot about them. Hatrigo responded immediately and I had a new basket before I knew it! FABULOUS product and FABULOUS customer service! Highly recommend.

We have used this basket for eggs (photo; using the 5-5-5 method), to make chicken broth, to make meat/veg dishes (after a saute of meat)... very versatile! Originally saw a review of this basket from Lisa Childs video on Tried, Tested, and True Instant Pot Cooking/YouTube and started checking out baskets. Made this purchase In October & have been completely satisfied with it's performance...from cooking to clean-up! Loving our Instant Pot Duo 8 and this basket fits great & works great (silicone handle & feet are so helpful). Have also taken the Instant Pot & Basket in our RV... great decision & makes cooking small or large meals easier. Definitely recommend and will continue to check on Hartrigo brand items in the future! EDIT: Reading other reviews & saw a couple of snarky ones that indicated only good reviews were published for the chance of getting a free basket. Maybe so, but I will only ever give an honest review regardless of possibility of reward. So, two things to update, yes I'd love to have a free one (for a friend's IP) but also, don't use to drain cooked rice as it will get stuck between the rim & the basket. Other than that, mine seems to be constructed well, cleans well and is used often!

I bought this steamer basket for my 8 quart Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker with the crisper lid to replace a steamer basket I have used for 3 years. My old steamer basket did not have the silicone feet, and I recently had to replace the liner pot in my Foodi since it was so scratched I was afraid of residue in my food. My old steamer basket had the silicone cover for the handle, but there was about 3 inches at each end that was not covered. In addition, the handle had to be occasionally reshaped because it would pop out of the hole that held it to the steamer. Who knew there would be so many things to consider when buying a steamer basket? After I bought the replacement inner pot for my Ninja Foodi, I found this steamer basket and ordered it because it has the silicone feet. The silicone cover on the handle covers most of the handle, and, so far, the handle has not popped out of the holes holding it. One thing I had never thought to consider is the height of the actual basket. This basket is taller than my my old steamer basket so I can steam more food at one time. I use this basket primarily for steaming veggie greens I grow in my basement in bulk. At one time, I sautéed all of my veggie greens, adding chopped onions, minced garlic, chicken broth, etc. I stood over the stove for 30-45 minutes adding a handful of greens at a time as they wilted. What I finally realized was that I couldn't really taste any of the additives that took me time to prepare, but also, the greens I added at the beginning of the cook were cooked a lot more that the ones that went into the pan in the beginning. Now, I fill the steamer basket with as much cut up greens it will hold, and steam them. All of them are cooked evenly for the same amount of time. If I want to add flavorings later, I can do that, but I can taste them. In addition, steaming preserves more of the vitamins than sautéing for a long period depending on the amount you are cooking. I have also used this steaming basket to steam green peppers for stuffed peppers and pepper egg boats. Steaming the peppers takes only 3 minutes in addition to the time it takes to get the steamer heated. I haven't used this basket for making broth as I believe a long, slow cook gets more of the "good stuff" out of the bones. UPDATE 5/20/21: I saw in one of the pictures, one silicone cover for a foot was not in place. I moved it in place, and all is good. The basket probably came like this, and I just didn't notice it. Still love the basket. UPDATE 09/11/21: I have been using this basket extensively for steaming my veggie harvests. Something I have noticed is that some of the steamed leaves do not get caught under the upper frame of the basket as they did with my previous basket. This make this one much easier to clean. I need only to use the spray nozzle on my sink to clean it. I am still very happy with this steamer basket and would recommend it. UPDATE 09/27/23: I have had the first steamer basket for about 2 1/2 years, and it has been very heavily used in my pressure cooker for steaming the veggies I grow. It has been used for steaming multiple batches of veggies 2-3 times a week for this 2 1/2 years. In this time, the basket oxidized a bit, but finally, one of the legs broke. I ordered two more of these baskets so I can now multitask while steaming the veggies. I can now have a batch steaming while I package and weigh the previous batch. This saves a lot of time in processing my veggies for freezing. Previous to ordering 2 of these, I ordered a different brand which did not have the rubberized feet. I returned them and ordered two of the these baskets that have the rubber feet. If you use the steamer baskets in a non-stick cooker, as I do, the rubber feet do not scratch the cooker as those without the feet do. I hope this review was helpful for you, and will update the review if my opinion changes.

Perfect kitchen gadget. Stainless with a silicone wrapped handle and feet. The mesh steamer was used to make chicken bone broth. It held the bones of 2 rotisserie chickens and veg for flavoring. It fit perfectly into my heavy old fashioned presto pressure cooker. I’m usually cooling the bones and broth so I can strain it for those tiny bones and veg. With this steamer/strainer I simply lifted all that mess out of the hot broth. Because of the silicone wrap on the handle no hot mit was needed. Amazing. I included a picture of the bone broth with a fine strainer since I wasn’t sure if the mesh on the Hatrigo would catch all those little bits. The fine mesh strainer was practically clean!!!! No more extra staining needed. It is super easy to clean. I have the 6 qt Hatrigo and it’s great for a tall kettle of 5.5 inches with a diameter greater than 8.5 inches. My pressure cooker was used only as a kettle and held 5quarts with head room to spare. You could use this steamer in a traditional pressure cooker since the handle folds flat and the silicone wrapped feet will keep your roast, veg etc off the bottom of the pressure cooker. I expect to buy the 8 qt for my daughter. It was recommended by Chef Billy Parisi.

Update: Hatrigo gets an "A" for effort. They responded to my original review by refunding my purchase and sending me a new one. That is going well above and beyond what I expected, which was nothing. Unfortunately, the replacement has the exact same problem. For me, I cut the handle nubs off my original with a Dremel and with that, it works perfectly. I was pretty unhappy that my original unit scratched off the ceramic coating on my ceramic lined pot. That alone prompted my original one star review. But once I modified the hinge a little, it works great. It is very well made. I have cooked hard boiled eggs in it and removing the basket after it is done doesn't even require a oven mitt because of the silicone sleeve on the handle (just don't delay setting it down or you will feel heat). I really like the basket. I just would suggest that Hatrigo add a final step to cut off the handle hinge pin excess after the crimp operation as a part of their manufacturing process. Hatrigo is a quality company and I commend their customer service which is top notch. I upgraded my review from one star to four as the basket is not perfect as the two examples I have seen exhibit a problem common to both. They could fix that in a second and if they did so, this would be a five star product. Original review: Not real great. They didn't cut the handle pin ends off! See photo. I put this thing in my brand new ceramic pot and something was hanging it up. I pulled it out and I had deep scratches in the ceramic pot. Looking closer and I see the handle pins are sticking out past the outer rim by 1/8" on both sides! I am going to use my Dremel tool to grind these down. If you do not have a Dremel or the desire to modify your brand new steamer, do not order this thing. Hatrigo, you need some quality control.

So we've been using this basket for about a month now, which I think is a fair enough amount of use to write a review. 1. The basket mesh is not fused to the thick outer wire frame. This doesn't present any issues, really, but something I noticed. If you store it improperly, I could see the mash warping from any pressure exerted upon it 2. We have washed this so many times and each time, even with sticky starchy things like potatoes, it always comes clean easily. 3. It's dishwasher safe, so it's easy clean up. 4. The silicone coated handle is great. Never gets too hot to handle, even fresh out of the pressure cooker. 5. The 6 qt version fit perfectly into my farberware pressure cooker. It falls just below the edge of the inner pot and though the feet are metal. They do not scratch the non-stick coating. We have since upgraded to the 8qt Ninjja Foodi and it fits inside without issue and still works great! 6. We have had zero problems with any rusting as some have reported, and the rubber coated feet keep my cooking pot nice and scratch free! Definitely recommend this, so far. It has been a very handy little purchase and I look forward to using it far into the future.

I love this steamer basket! Not only is it great for steaming vegetables in my pressure cooker but I've used it a few times to reheat pulled pork that I had previously cooked in the pressure cooker. It keeps the meat from swimming in barbecue sauce and also keeps the meat from overcooking - which has sometimes happened to me when I've just used the pressure cooker (even a crock pot) to reheat the barbecue pulled pork - no one likes it when it gets dark and scorched. The steam heats the meat up quickly and keeps it moist. I love the little silicone covered feet on the bottom of the basket too - makes it easier to tip the contents out of the basket. It also has a silicone covered handle that makes lifting it out of the pressure cooker much easier. I looked at several different steamer basket designs and in my opinion, this one had the best design because it allows the most steam contact as well as allowing the most liquid to drain away from the food being steamed. Some of the other ones I looked at that were plastic, would obviously allow water to pool around the food because (when using plastic) too many holes to drain liquid would make it structurally weaker. This basket cleans up easily using the sprayer on my sink or simply putting it in my dishwasher. My family is still raving about how much better the reheated pulled pork was using this basket than the way I used to reheat it. It also holds a lot of eggs if you like to use your pressure cooker to hard boil them! I can now see myself using this almost daily.

Way-to-go Hartigo!! I don't usually do reviews of products, but I have to change my ways with this product. Wow, it's awesome! The material and construction of the basket is top quality, a professional item if I have ever seen one. It has the quality that I seek in a product: heavy duty materials, silicone handle that lies out of the way and doesn't interfere with any of the items you place in the basket, fits perfectly inside the Instant Pot 8-qt Duo, and one can use it for any other purpose that may require a strainer. I used it the other night and fit a large head of broccoli in it; when it was done, I simply reached in, and grabbed the silicone handle, without burning my fingers and, voila, fresh steamed broccoli. It cleans up easily and stores conveniently out-of-the-way in my spare pot. I looked at a lot of other baskets and I am delighted to have chosen this one! The craftsmanship is outstanding. And now for the best part, the price!, well within budget; costing less than many of the other baskets. I give it two-thumbs up and highly recommend it to those who want a quality product that will last a life time.

It does fit into both my 6qt and my 8qt Instant Pot. Good quality, easy to clean and the wrapped handle is a plus. You can steam a generous amount of food at once

I purchased one of these and fell in love with how perfect it fits my lifestyle. I use my Instant Pot constantly and the use of this 8 quart strainer basket makes life so much eaier and safer. It is well made and fits my 8 quart duo just right without wasting empty space. It has become essential and I will use it almost as Much as I do my Instant Pot. This strainer basket is perfect for making bone broth also. It really saves time during the straining process. Tight weave too. Love it! See some broth pics below!
