Use it Everyday!
I moved to Sudan recently and along with the Colloquial book, I bought this dictionary. It is extremely useful. I like that words are written in Arabic and English, I usually do not like to read the English transliteration and prefer to see a word written in Arabic. I have been in conversations with people and have had the book beside me and have confirmed what I thought someone said or searched for a word to explain something and the language used is what is used in everyday speech. As an Arabic speaker of different Arabic dialects, if one is coming to Sudan, one must buy this!

Pretty good
This dictionary is nice. The Arabic words are written first in English transliteration, but the Arabic script is written right after, which I like.So if you were going to look up the word نجمة, you would look it up under ‘nijma’. This can be kinda problematic if you didn’t know the word was transliterated ‘nijma’ نِجمة instead of ‘najma’ نَجمة.It helps with pronunciation but it’s still nice to see the Arabic script. The way verbs are listed are kinda strange, which is really my only problem with it.

A great resource
VERY helpful indeed. I've used it as a reference quite a bit now. It's great that the Arabic words are both in Roman script and Arabic script, so both I and the person I'm working with can read them.

Highlly recommend!
Very helpful book, easy to understand and practical. First and only book I have found that knows how to address the linguistic nuisances of Sudanese Arabic. Highly recommend.

Sudanese Arabic
This is a great dictionary even though everything is spelled phonetically, it helps if you are still trying to get used to hearing the Qaf pronounced as a G
