Trusted Brand - 4 Months' Supply - Partner Appreciates These
I prefer to review supplement brands I trust - Jarrow is one of them. This is a pack of 120 capsules. Non-GMO, Vegan and Vegetarian-friendly and Gluten Free.Acetyl-L-Carnitine is said to be a great ally supporting many different issues. For my partner, who deals with nerve pain and mood swings, he feels this is a supplement worth adding to his list.Regular-sized capsules and quite a high dose, though it's suggested to take 1-2 tablets a day. He's taking one a day, so 120 will last for 4 months on this schedule.

specific form of Carnatine - good but pricey
This is a different form of Carnatine from the more common L-Carnitine Tartrate. While the tartrate is used in relation to exercise and weight loss, the Acetyl is also marketed around cognitive function and mood, and easier absorption. Jarrow Formulas is a California-based company with a positive commitment to scientific research – though it would be good to include more specifics with each product. In any case, and as with any supplement, it is a good idea to see if there is independent scientific evidence to back up such claims. Acetyl L-carnitine is sometimes referred to in the literature as ALCAR, and investigations aren’t limited to the claims or suggestions commonly included in marketing material (e.g. as a repurposed agent for cancer prevention). Also investigate side-effects and consult your GP. I have not experienced any side-effects.500mg isn’t a particularly high daily dosage, so the price at the time of writing (working out at 92.5p per gram) seems rather on the high side. Possibly because it's imported from the USA. The jar came with a batch sticker affixed on top of the information on the jar itself, and on the jar underneath the sticker it suggests taking a capsule 1 to 2 times a day. The sticker also has a date of 10/24 - I received it on 2/24 so whether it’s a best-before or use-by date it’s quite short. The marketing photos on the Amazon page at time of writing include an English language label that lists the ingredients as L-lysine – a related but different product, so presumably an error as it's not actually on the jar.Carnatine as the name suggests is present in meat diets, so it’s appropriate that this is a vegetarian product.

A Little Boost for the Brain and Body
I needed something to help me keep up, not just physically but mentally too. Enter these capsules - they promised a bit of pep for my step and some clarity for my noggin, and they've delivered, in their own subtle way.The Meat and Potatoes of It:First off, the 500mg dose per capsule seems spot on. It's high enough to feel the difference without going overboard. Since I've started, I've noticed a slight uptick in my energy levels. It's not like I'm ready to run a marathon, but I'm certainly feeling less like a zombie during the 3 p.m. slump. And brain fog? Let's just say I've been a tad sharper during team meetings, much to my boss's delight (and surprise).Pros:Vegan Friendly: As a meat-eater myself, I'm not the target audience, but it's nice to know I'm taking something that's ethically considerate.Gluten-Free: Great for those with sensitivities or dietary preferences. Luckily, I don't have to dodge gluten, but it's good to know I'm not inadvertently causing a mate discomfort when recommending it.Simple Regimen: One capsule, a couple of times a day. Easy to remember, even for someone who occasionally forgets why he walked into a room.Mental Clarity: Slightly sharper mind, which is a godsend with a small baby at home. Anything that helps me remember where I've put the nappies is a win in my book.Cons:Subtle Effects: Don't expect to turn into Einstein or Usain Bolt overnight. The benefits are there but in a more 'British understatement' kind of way.Price Point: It's a bit of an investment. Worth it for the benefits, but you'll want to make sure it fits into the monthly budget alongside nappies and dog food. The Verdict:While I'm not about to start lecturing on the benefits of acetyl-L-carnitine to every Tom, Dick, and Harry I meet, I'd say it's been a worthwhile addition to my routine. It's like having a slightly stronger cup of tea in the morning - you might not notice the difference right away, but over time, you appreciate the subtle boost it provides. Just don't expect miracles, and remember, it's part of a balanced approach to health. Now, if only they could come up with something to make changing nappies a bit more energising!

Good supplement to take but expensive
For vegetarians and vegans this supplement is needed as it is a supplement of what is found in meat mainly and good for many parts of bodily function from heart to meme out to energy etc. I am not a vegetarian but thought I’d try as it is a fairly low dose (despite what it says in the title) and gives many health benefits.I haven’t particularly noticed anything profound but havent felt bad. I am surprised and confused why these are 4 times the price of other brands as these are also only 500mg and you can get 2000mg for 14.99 elsewhere.Ignoring the price it is good that they are gluten free, soy free and vegan. I knocked off thh by r stars because of price and there is nothing different about there ones than any others.
