Do the soft white flicker?

Yes, these led tealight candles have a soft white light with flicker.

I bought the Homemory 12 pack with remote (4-button). Will these (set of 24 without remote) work with the same remote?

Hello, this 24-pack candle cannot be controlled by remote control.

Why are there half as many batteries (12) as there are candles (24)?

Mine came with a battery inside each candle

what is the actual brightness in either watts or lumens please?

Hi can't answer your question. They are pretty bright.
