Good product
I used this on 2 pair of leather boots and 1 pair of tin cloth chaps, it was easy to apply and soaked well into the material with the sun on a 60 degree Wis February afternoon. Haven't had the opportunity to test the water repellent but seems it will work just fine.

Works very well but you need a good heat gun!
I used this stuff to bring back the looks and waterproof nature of a 15 year old waxed-canvas coat, and it looks like new! I also used it on a dark denim flat-cap, which also looks great and is now quite water resistant. As I said, beg, borrow or buy a heat gun to melt the product deep into the fabric of your garments. Works far better than leaving them in the sun or a warm room. Also goes on quite easily like warm butter. Very easy to work with!

Easy to apply but does not last
It's very easy to apply unlike Barbour's Thornproof dressing and provides a great matte finish but does not last at all. I can wear my Barbours for a couple of years with infrequent wearing before I need to reproof but this one needs reproofing in three to six months.

Great product, does the job and is half the price.
I reproofed my duster last week. I removed the cover from my ironing board and took it out on the patio by the pool. It was 87° out and sunny. The wax was very nice and soft. I used a 2" sponge paintbrush to apply the wax. It went on very easily and soakedin/dried perfectly. My large rain duster and shoulder shield/cape used approx 1/2 the container. I applied it liberally. It took me about 2 hours to do the mid-calf length coat. The price is fantastic compared to other products out there. I had a load of photos to add but I can't access my photos, they want you to take them here.I recommend, but give yourself time to do it properly and do it where you have space.

Not suitable for clothing at all.
I used this on a 100% cotton tarp. I left the tarp in the sun for 4 weeks, and the wax never came close to be absorbed. These were bright sunny days, in direct sunlight. The wax also has a STRONG petroleum smell that did not abate after all the time outside. It does shed water very well.

Much easier to apply than the old beeswax bar
I used to rain proof my cotton canvas jacket using the old beeswax bar method. This wax went on extremely easily... I finished in probably a fifth of the time.I usually have to waterproof twice during the Pacific NW rainy season, but this wax also seems to last longer than beeswax.Very happy with this product. I've used it for going on 3 rainy seasons and still have plenty left for my jacket for several more years

Not what I expected
To be fair I am new to waxing and is the first jacket that I have waxed. After looking at some over priced wax jacked I decided to try at it myself. I bought a Black Carhart jacket on sale and started looking at waxes. After going down the Waxing rabbit hole I decided to try this stuff because of reviews. First of all it was more like a creamy, Vaseline substance and not a wax it went on easy enough but not it looks like the black jacket has been covered in chalk in stead of the waxing effect I was going for. Second if I put a har dryer on it the wax pretty much dissipates to make the jacket look back to normal with not waxing effect or water proofing properties. I am back to researching waxes again wish me luck

Will by again when needed, maybe 3-4 years.
This 400g jar will last you for a few years. Just finished my duster and a pair of boots, didn't put a dent in the 400g and I was very generous with the wax. It will darken most things you use it on but, once it soaks in it gets a little lighter. Will purchase again, the three most important words in any review, the only three I look for.
