I have .5" trim around the door frame. It took some creative measuring, but it installed as intended. Note the adjustments screws face the hinges wether it's a left or right side open. I thought it was defective when I tried to open the door, but then realized you now need to pull through the resistance. It's a harder opening door now, but I'll get used to it. Do not adjust either of the screws all the way in. The door will not close and the screws will then be difficult to access for adjustment. Once adjusted, the closer works perfectly and the small footprint is nice as well. Definitely recommend for residential/mild commercial install.

Very pleased with this door closer. It feels sturdy and well made, and once installed it works exactly as it should. The door closes smoothly and consistently without slamming, which was the main reason I purchased it. It has a solid commercial feel and has held up well with regular use. For the price, the quality exceeded my expectations. I would definitely purchase this again for another door.

5 starts for price and what you get, February of this year we had to move our business. The building we moved to had a broken closer on the front door. I bought this low priced option just to be able to get going, thinking I would replace it in a few months with a commercial grade one. I am very pleased to say that 8 months later (being opened about 100 times a day) it is still working fine. The bushings on the arm are wearing out, so there is a little slop in the movement, but it still functions. I would recommend checking the fasteners every couple of months once it is installed, but other than that, zero complaints.

I really was thinking about four stars due to the difficulty I had putting it up. The instructions that comes with it is very sketchy. Very difficult to follow and it’s all in metric. I must’ve spent several hours off and trying to put this on my door. It’s on my entrance door, which is metal. But once I figured it out, it works wonderful. It takes a little effort to pull the door open, which is normal due to this pressure on the closer but when it closes, it is so smooth. I’m very pleased with this product. I will add… If you are a DIY, is going to take a lot of skills. Would be very easy for a professional. One last thing. Do not mess with the saving screws until you have the door opener mounted

Not able to close commercial doors, even though it says commercial. It would work fine on hollow doors, but on actually commercial doors, it doesn’t work.
