For years, strangers have been coming into my yard and stealing our mangoes! They walk up the driveway and through 10 feet of yard and, bold as brass, steal the fruit right off our tree. We wait for the fruit to tree-ripen, but they come in with bags and just take what they want. These aren't kids, they're grown adults (some over 60!) trespassing! A couple of times, entire families just raided it. I've tried yelling at them, but they just scamper off with whatever they want. It's a bit ridiculous! We planted the tree, take good care of it, and they just come and steal the fruit! This year, I decided to try the animal blaster! And it worked! A couple of times, we heard squeals as the water soaked the thieves, but we finally have fruit! It's so nice to be rid of this headache! Victory is ours!! :) The motion sensor is adjustable, so I've set it to where it won't go off in the wind, only when a person is walking toward it. It doesn't leak, so no water waste, and I adjusted the tap so the water goes right where I want it. It works great! After we've eaten all our fruit (finally!) I'll use it to keep the rabbits out of the fall vegetable garden. UPDATE: So it mysteriously stopped working after 5 months. :( I was using it to scare away rabbits and it just stopped entirely. Tried new batteries, that didn't work. I called Amazon to ask about the included 1 year manufacturer's warranty and they didn't have any way to contact the manufacturer. But Amazon said I could return it. Sad that what was a great product just konked out. I'll order another one from a different manufacturer and see how that goes.

The instructions for setup were very limited and insufficient. I had to figure out how to set up the angle of rotation. Also, the motion sensor seems to have a wider range on the right side than the left side. It is difficult to determine how close to the ground the sensor is sensing. It works on people well but there is no way to make sure that it is sensing cats or dogs at a lower level. I set it the best way I could determine and it seems to be working well. I haven't seen any cats in that area since installing it. The knob to adjust the motion sensing level worked fine for a day or two but after it has been exposed to water it seems that it is no longer working. It is on all the time for the maximum sensing distance. I'm still happy with the device since it seems to be keeping the cats away from that section of my garden and I plan to buy a couple more for my other garden areas.

We have been having a growing issue with either stray cats or irresponsible owners not fixing their pets (at least two of the cats that were an issue were not) coming into our yard and marking everything, including our slider we leave open at night when the weather is nicer, and picking fights with our cats, including through our door. I didn't want to go with a trap except as a last resort, and the city animal control has decided to do nothing about the exploding stray cat population in our city, leaving limited options for dealing with a trap humanely, so needed to start with deterrence. Well, it seems after getting a couple of nasty surprises from this sprinkler, the marking and fighting issues have more or less disappeared and our unwelcome visitors have seemed to have got the message our yard isn't a place for them to be. It will easily trigger at 20-30 feet even on setting 4, setting 0 in spite of saying in the instructions is "off" is not, so true off needs to be shutting the water off to it or you'll get sprayed walking close enough to it still. Our yard is again quiet and we can leave our slider open again without having to worry about peeing or fighting through it, worth the price of admission.

We had a problem with rabbits eating our plants and a neighbor suggested this. The initial setup was fairly easy, but there is no way to determine the sensitivity of the unit. Turn it all the way up and it sprays as every car goes by; turn it all the way down, and it sprays as every car goes by. The unit can't even "see" the cars; the top of the unit is below a brick wall. Now when it comes to rabbits, it's a different story. We waited with glee for Peter, Flopsy & Mopsy to hop into the yard. It didn't take long, they hopped in right next to the sprayer and...nothing. The sprayer didn't go off. We adjusted the height to a lower angle and tried again...still nothing. Then a car drove by, sure enough the sprayer went off - that will scare the overalls off of the rabbit family, right? Nope, they kept hopping around chewing and leaving a trail of tiny chocolates behind them. The following day, the rabbits arrived with little bars of soap and shower shoes for their lucky feet. Every few minutes, a car would drive by and the rabbits would bask in the cool, fresh shower bestowed upon them by the benevolent Mister McGregor. After two free rabbit spa days, the batteries died. We figured that the unit must be defective, so we foolishly ordered another one. It came very quickly and we set it up with great anticipation only to be disappointed with the same results. Could it be that the rabbits are just too small to be seen by the unit? Well, our question was answered when we came home to a half-dozen rabbits and one very large cat frolicking in our yard. So, it’s not for cats either? After reading other reviews I see that skunks and raccoons are also enjoying free showers while they dine. The moral of the story is, save your money unless the “pest” you are trying to rid yourself of is larger than a sub-compact car.

I would give this a five star review... IF they lasted longer. I just bought two more because they work so well (deer problem) but the previous two only lasted 1 ½ years!! The sprinkler head broke one one and the sensitivity of the other one was uncontrollable and not working at all. And, yes, I have taken care of them - brought them inside in the winter and removed the batteries.

EDIT: have had this about a month now & can say I’m SO glad we took a chance on this sprinkler. It doesn’t just scare off critters, it also scares off CRIMINALS. A couple losers got a midnight shower when they tried to steal from my yard. LOL! OP: Just hooked it up today & it seems to work well. Will report back if I have any issues within a year. Looking forward to seeing the various critters that crap all over my yard & eat my garden plants get blasted with water.

Once I got this thing working it actually did ok. The problem was getting to that point. When I received the box and started to "assemble" the sprinkler, first there was no manual/instruction sheet at all. Figuring It just wasn't that hard, have several similar products from other companies, I started to put it together. It immediately became obvious there was at least one part missing. There was a base, an extender, the unit itself, and one coupler (for connecting the sprinkler to the main unit or the extender) and the sprinkler head. What was missing was another coupler to connect the extender. There were two male ends and no way to connect. I did email the manufacturer and tried to explain what was missing. To their credit they did send a part, another extender which was no help at all. They also emailed a instruction manual which didn't really help either. What I had thought they would do was just send another whole unit. In the end I used parts from my old unit, again from a different manufacturer, and got it all working. In retrospect, I believe the box I received had been a return and never should have been mailed to me in the beginning. Poor quality control. Although the unit works fairly well, I doubt I will buy another....I have run out of spare parts.

I love this thing.I'd like to get another one.Keep the deer out of my flowers!

I bought one item from this seller. After using its water pressure went down, spray range dropped to 1m. I sent it back, but still not refunded and there is no feedback after a month even though they received back the item. Amazon is also not very helpful since they are based in a different country.

Leider hat es für 5 Sterne nicht gereicht, da der Geräteadapter für den Schlauchanschluss fehlte. Nach Reklamation beim Hersteller wurde ich an Amazon verwiesen. Amazon teilte mir mit, dass ich das Gerät zurückschicken müsste. Ich habe mich dazu entschieden den Geräteadapter für 4,25 € im Baumarkt zu kaufen.
