solely a narration of author's achievements
I read this book and discovered two things:1. Stress in childhood is bad.2. Author did a lot for the community. The whole book is a glorified narrative of author's efforts. But no practical or useful advice is offered to the readers. Can be skipped if you are looking to heal.

Everyone with a pulse needs to read this book
This book is sobering and liberating. The problem of adverse childhood experiences touches every aspect of our lives and civilization. But the severity of the problem is matched only by the power and hope we have to fix the problem once we see it clearly. The author does a beautiful job of telling both stories: that of the problem and the solution. As someone with 7 ACE's this book validated my experience but inspired me to take responsibility for dealing with the effects of them head on knowing I'm not alone and I'm not crazy. This book is life changing and a total paradigm shift for how we see and deal with the problems of living, both individually and collectively. It is literally the best book I've ever read. It's that important. Read it and become part of the conversation that Nadine Burke Harris has invited us to have to start our collective healing.

Helpful
Book is well written with a nice build up of backstory to how the author arrived to these ideals and her personal experience throughout. A great read to provoke some introspection and help with self awareness.

Sehr lesenswert.
