The best Italian fighters...
This Osprey Combat Aircraft series book explores the operational lives of Italy's best fighter aircraft during the Second World War. The failure of pre-war designs in combat caused Italy to seek the use of German aircraft engines. When married to a good airframe, this produced the Macchi C.202 and C.205V fighters, which often held their own against a variety of Allied fighters and other aircraft. The narrative examines in some detail Italian flight operations in a variety of theaters of war around the Mediterranean Sea and in North Africa and Eastern Europe. The text is nicely supported with lots of period photographs and color plates of aircraft types. Of note, the author's analysis suggests a consistent overclaiming of aerial victories by Italian fliers (in common with all air forces in the conflict). Well recommended to students of the air war in the Second World War.

It is a very well established book about the history of the fighters.
It is a very detailed book about the mc202 and mc205.it has a great history of the fighters. My only problem with the book is it didn't include the mc200 of which the fighters were designed from. It's like not telling you the whole story about the fighters.
