Measure at both ends.
Like the fact that it has the two laser, what I don’t like is that it doesn’t have a beeper or something to let you know when you are in the center of the measuring

Way to hard for me to use...confusing
Too many options and steps needed to get a measurement for me. Others might fine it useful but I am going with a much simpler option

Well-made, easy to operate, bi- and uni-directional measurement, level, many other useful features
This bi-directional/uni-directional handheld laser measuring device and level is well made, inexpensive and combines simplicity of operation with an impressive number of customizable features. Here's a summary of how it operates:1. on/off and measurement: If you just want to take quick measurements without reading the manual (9 pages for the English part), all you need to do is short press the top (on) button, wait two seconds until it fully turns on, press the top button a second time, wait a second, and you have your measurement. You turn it off with a long press of the bottom button or can wait a few minutes and it will turn itself off.2. measurement units (4 options): If you want to change the measurement units from the default meter setting, you long press the top right button to cycle between the three other choices, feet to three decimals, inches to two decimals, and feet and inches showing 1/16ths of an inch. The button has "unit" printed on it.3. bi-directional/uni-directional: If you want to use the device for uni-directional measurement (top laser only), you long press the top right button, which causes it to toggle between bi-directional and two types of uni-directional (including or not including the length of the device).4. rechargeable battery: It has a built-in rechargeable battery, which is much more convenient than replacing non-rechargeable batteries. You charge it by peeling up the rubberized cover over the USB-C socket on the right side, insert the smaller (USB-C) end of the included USB cable into the socket, and insert the larger (UBS-A) end into a wall adapter, and recharge.5. angle read-out: The level read-out (in tenths of a degree) is always present. (The laser shuts off automatically after a short period of not being used, so you can use the level without draining the battery or worrying about the laser beam striking someone's eye.) The manual recommends a six-step calibration (basically taking measurements with the device in different orientations) that the user can perform without any tools or reference points. There are various other nice features.--The laser turns off after each measurement to conserve battery life and as a safety precaution.--You can enlarge the font size, mute the beep sound, and change screen orientation so that the numbers read sideways.--You can add or subtract a measurement to the previous measurement by short pressing the bottom left or right buttons, respectively.--The device has a mode that calculates area or volume from two or three measurements.--The device has a Pythagorean mode that calculates the length of all three sides of a triangle from the length of the hypotenuse and angle of inclination or the length of the hypotenuse and another side. The device is mainly plastic but it has a slightly softer gray coating (maybe silicone) over the yellow plastic to give it a softer feel and better grip. There is also ribbing on the sides for a better grip. It's approximately 4.75" long x 2" wide by 1" deep (small enough to easily transport but not so small that's it's hard to hold) and it weighs 126g (the product specs say 330g, which is actually the shipping weight with the box, manual, case, wrist strap and cable). This model, the DM-393, has a measurement range of up to 393 feet. The slightly more expensive DM-525 has a range of up to 525 feet.
