My new favorite tool! Understanding blade direction and distance are critical for good cuts!
I used this tool for 6 holes in drywall for LED wafer lights and even if I never use it again, it may be the best money I've ever spent on a DIY project.I spent a good 20+ minutes reading over the instructions and setting up the blades for my first cut because I'm meticulous. From reading the couple negative reviews, it sounds like they didn't set up the cutters correctly. Now that I understand the tool, setting it up again would take just a few seconds. At first I thought having the blades in opposite directions was odd (one sharp point closer to the center, the other sharp point away). Then I realized this is the most critical part for the tool to work well because it's cutting like a saw blade. Think about the teeth on a regular saw blade, every other tooth is pointed to the opposite side to remove enough material for the saw blade to fit inside the cut. This tool has to do the exact same thing with the cutting blades.I uploaded a picture of what it looks like when the blades first start to make contact with the drywall- they cut an inside ring and an outside ring and the blades remove the material between them so they can plunge into the cut, this is exactly what you want! Now, setting up the distance from the center is also extremely critical to get a nice clean cut. Visualize the two sides of the tool as your inside cut and your outside cut. Set the cutter with the pointed tip on the outside to exactly the hole diameter you want, I used a speed square resting against the pilot bit (although you have to do some math this way and subtract the radius of the bit). One your outside cut is set, adjust the blade with the point facing in ever so slightly closer to the center. Like 1/32" closer, just a hair. Take both measurements from the inside or outside of the cutter, not the pointed tip. This ensures the material removed is enough for the blades to fit. If you don't pay attention to this part, you run the risk of having your inside and outside cuts too close together and having to force the tool into the material leaving a bad cut.The inside and outside cuts can be as far apart as 2x the cutter width before you have any issues, so you want to err on that side. All it means is the scrap piece that falls out will be a hair smaller. It didn't help that my tool showed up with both pointed tips facing out, so I had to flip one around- I'm guessing this causes a lot of confusion for some. This tool requires the pilot bit to hold it in place so you can't put a hole around an existing hole. Also, the dust bowl doesn't make contact with the drywall until after the pilot bit is through the material. I recommend drilling all of your pilot holes first so you can start with the bowl against the drywall, spin up the cutter, then slowly plunge into the material. The bowl keeps your cutter going straight into the material nicely and the pushback on the spring is perfect to control the plunge cut.I'm not sure I will ever use any of the extra drill bits in the case, and would rather have not paid for them, but the value is still top notch. Don't hesitate to buy this tool but do take your time setting it up.My pictures show my very first cut in the ceiling, no test runs and it's better than most hole saws.

Does the job perfectly
Bought this to install can lights in our movie room. It worked beautifully, cutting the drywall as expected and accumulating the dust underneath without it going everywhere. I hated to buy a tool for a one-time job, but it really made things so much easier that it was worth it. May find a use for it at some later time as well, as the blades are adjustable and can cut a wide range of holes. The tool was of good quality and the plastic was thick and durable. Overall a great product.

Works good but tears up the face of the gypsum board...
One of the cutters was put on incorrectly at the factory so I had to change that before using. The cutting process is relatively rough and a bit hard to regulate the blade penetration. I cut 6 holes with a 6.25" diameter. Of the six holes I drilled, only one had smooth paper on the face of the gyp board. The others were torn up to the point of needing patch work to look okay. The catch pan worked very well and very little dust and debris fell during the cutting process. Overall not a fantastic experience but it got the job done.

Impressed
So, I didn’t have overly high expectations for this. I figured if it enables me to complete one project efficiently then I’d be happy. After having now used it for a major renovation, I’m very impressed. The thing cuts perfect hole after perfect hole with absolutely no mess from the drywall dust. I’m amazed. For what you get in this kit and it’s accuracy and ease of use, it’s worth every penny. Will it be this great after a couple hundred holes, I’m not sure, but for homeowners use it’s near perfect. Sets up fast, changes to hole size are easy and I just can’t believe how it traps all the dust and debris. Well worth the investment over a standard single size hole saw.

Home Handy People, this is worth it.
This is one of those tools that I will only ever use on one day- But it's worth acquiring anyway. When installing recessed lighting, accuracy matters. This tool delivers the necessary accuracy. It's simple to learn to use.I was able to cut install eight recessed lights in a day using this tool. If I'd tried to cut the plaster ceiling with a carpenters knife or a handheld jigsaw, the project would have taken much longer. It would have been uncomfortable working overhead. It would have been messy. The results could have been... less than adequate.Instead, I was able to accurately cut the eight holes without any problem. The edges of the holes were neat. The tool caught most of the dirt and dust.Even if I never use it again, this was absolutely good value.

Miserable product... Blades don't stay locked in place
I needed to install 8 canless lights in my home office. I'm a diy-er and have done these before, but drywall dust is such a mess. Saw this on Amazon and thout it would be great for cutting perfect holes with little mess. I was wrong.Read the instructions carefully and set it up. Made sure the blades were in the correct location and tight. The first hole went well. I thought I was a genius for finding this little "gem". The second hole seemed to go well also, but I discovered that the blades had slipped a little and cut a little larger hole. The third hole also seemed to go well but when I pulled the dust bowl down I noticed something was very wrong. The blades had slipped completely and instead of cutting a 6" hole it had cut an 8" hole. Ugh.I figured I had done something wrong so I tightened the blades again, checked the instructions again, had a friend who was helping me also check both, and tried it again. This time it shredded the drywall. I went back to my trusty Rotozip and taped a shop vac nozzle to it. Worked great. Correct sized holes with little dust.So my one day project turned into several days, including having to patch and texture the holes and repaint the entire ceiling so it would match.Needles to say, I do not recommend this product..
