Perfect for Quest 3

If you like watching films or need to dual purpose your quest usb c port. This is a must buy as you can charge and watch or add other accessories.

Quest 3 charging with data pass through

First established USB input to 4xvr video player followed by charger. Not achieved in reverse. I have no interest in any other player so have nothing to add about them.

Works as expected with Android, but maybe not the best choice of shape

My Android phone worked immediately and as expected with this device. It was able to charge, and read and write to a flash drive in the USB-A port, at the same time without any issues. For me that’s ideal, as I often copy large amounts of video or music media on and off my phone, and now I can do that without having to rely on the phone’s charge to power it. So in that respect, it works exactly as advertised. The only real limitation, for me, is a slight mistake in the shape of the design. Because the USB-A port is sideways, it means that quite a few of the USB flash drives I have sat around won’t fit into it, because they are wider than the USB port, so they end up pushing against the frame of the phone, which then means the USB-C connector doesn’t fit properly. So there are various USB sticks that it’s not suitable for use with, as a result. If both the USB-A and USB-C ports had been in the bottom of the device, rather than the side, then it would have been perfect. There’s one other thing worth mentioning that it can’t do, though I’m less surprised by that- it can’t successfully power self-powered hard drives that take a bunch of power to run, for example external spinning HDD’s which rely on a good amount of USB power because they haven’t got their own power supply. When I tried using one such device with this connector and my phone, the result was jittery- it recognised it at first, but kept disconnecting from it whenever it was put to the test. So that means that some external hard drives are incompatible with it as well, though I feel that’s more to do with the power limitations of the USB-C port than a fault with this device. The device arrives simply packaged, and it works straight out of the bag. So as long as you’re not affected by either of the two limitations I’ve mentioned above, it could work for you very nicely.

Allows My Shure Microphone to Connect to My iPad Pro Whilst It is Being Charged

I got this on the off chance it would solve a problem. I didn’t think for a moment that it would, but it did - sort of!I have a Shure MV88+ video microphone kit designed to be used with an iPhone through its Lightning connector and other phones with a USB-C connector. The kit includes two short, but expensive, USB cables that plug into a micro USB socket on the microphone. When the iPod Pro was released, with its USB-C socket, I thought the MV88+ could be used with that, but I was mistaken. Apple and Shure were not playing nice together. The microphone would work, but the essential settings could only be “pre-set” using an iPhone before transferring operations to the iPad.Spool forward to the introduction of the iPhone 15, with its USB-C socket and minds at Shure and Apple were focussed on the number of cheesed off MV88+ users who could no longer use their expensive video kit. A software update was released and voilà, the microphone now worked as well with an iPad as it did with an iPhone - it took years for this to come about. The downside was the 30cm cables supplied in the kit; these were fine for use with phones, where the microphone is mounted on top with a frame assembly, but for an iPad a much longer lead was needed to allow the microphone to be used on a stand. Here is where this 2-in-1 USB C to USB 3.1 adapter comes in - see I finally got round to it! I have a large number of USB-A to micro USB leads and this adapter enabled me to use these between the microphone and the iPad Pro, whilst at the same time charging it!It wasn’t quite that straightforward; not all my leads worked. The microphone is very fussy, but an old two meter Amazon basics was solid, putting my more expensive JucieBitz offerings to shame. If this device works with a Shure MV88+ it is likely it will work with anything - I highly recommend it.
