I am not sure how I would describe this other than just weird. First of all, for 45 bucks you would expect something more durable. My puppy is not a chewer, but in his attempts to get comfortable scratched some holes into the NYLON cover. Second, I am not sure if there was supposed to be some refrigeration or not, the directions were very unclear. It never felt very "cool" no cooler than hardwood floors or a bathroom floor, which my dog still preferred over this mat. So back to Amazon, it goes. I do not recommend this product.

I have a puppy who sleeps hot and he’d wake up panting. I gave this a try and it saved the day (or night, rather.) I don’t know how it stays so cold but it does an amazing job. Because of this he can sleep about 7 hours at night and he’s only 3.5 months old.

This seemed to work pretty well and the cover did its best to resist my 6 mo old German Shepherd's chewing, but in the end, the dog won and chewed a hole in the cover. The cooling gel DID NOT leak all over the place, and more importantly, did not make my dog sick. I'll try buying another one of these someday if my dog stops chewing things that aren't his chew-toys.
