This is simply the most beautiful book I've bought in a long time. As it happens I'm very interested in the topic, but even if you have zero interest in herbs you should still buy it for its sheer elegance and wonderful production values. Check out all the illustrations on the Amazon page and you'll begin to see what I mean. The cover is exquisitely printed and debossed and the book block is coloured a beautiful bottle green. It'll win – and deserve – all sorts of prizes for production. Highly recommended.

Lovely, fresh presentation with no hard to understand waffle !! Although the illustrations are attractive, I would have liked a small drawing to show what the herb actually looks like. This is why I have only given 4 stars instead of 5.

Such a beautifully designed book and a treasure to read. One quibble though - mine arrived with a blue sticker on the front cover with quotes which has proved impossible to remove and now I have a grubby gluey mark on the front which is annoying.

Extremely beautiful as well as being informative. Provides excellent cameos of all the known herbs as well as many that I had not come across before. Is excellent for those, like myself, who prefer to take a tisane of sage and thyme for a sore throat rather than swallowing the syrupy concoctions prescribed by doctors. And it tells one how to treat much else besides. Cannot recommend it more highly.

Not sure why this is receiving so many gushing celebrity recommendations -it's somewhat less than the sum of its parts. Interesting on a first reading but not practically useful - makes me think of a Christmas novelty purchase.

Really beautiful book, bold illustrations and very nicely written too. I have already bought another copy as a gift for a friend, and will doubtless buy a couple more too.
