The writing is fast paced, the action and anticipation is non-stop
I haven't (yet!) had the pleasure of reading the previous four books in The Alpha Girl Series by Aileen Erin but they are all waiting for me on my Kindle for pleasure reading as soon as the time finds me!It took a quick few chapters to really find myself caught up in the story and feeling like I wasn't missing out on the backstory at all. Ms. Erin did an excellent job of jumping immediately back into action and the thoughts and interactions of her characters carried the story full ahead for me.I'm not a fan of witches or demons, but when combined with Tessa, Dastien, and the rest of their friends, I am completely impressed with this novel! The writing is fast paced, the action and anticipation is non-stop and the ending was . . . was . . . fanstasmagorical! I'm not certain which words I just combined, but it truly sounds like how I'm feeling at the end of Alpha Unleashed.I am a huge fangirl after reading Alpha Unleashed, Book #5 in The Alpha Girl Series by Aileen Erin. I'm looking forward to her upcoming Holy Ghost High Series and more in the future in The Alpha Girl Series.I highly recommend Alpha Unleashed, Book #5 in The Alpha Girl Series by Aileen Erin and give it five demonly hot cups of Room With Books coffee.© September 24, 2015Patricia, Room With Books

I've thoroughly enjoyed this series
I've thoroughly enjoyed this series. The first half of the book overlaps Bruja slightly, so there's a bit of repetitiveness as some of the events are re-told from Tessa's view point instead. As the two stories take place on separate continents, it's not much of an overlap and easily blends into the story.I've loved Tessa's and Dastien's story, and I've loved watching Tessa come to terms with her new world. I can see why the author wrapped up this story line and eliminated this big bad, and I'm grateful she did wrap it up in a way the series can now stand on its own. It seems so many authors these days would just drop them into another situation and string the series along. That being said, there were some things hinted at during the story line that never seemed to fully develop. The story ends right at the coming out party (for lack of a better phrase), and while Tessa is straddling that fine line like her Grandma foretold, it's not the solid footing or the leadership position I imagined when I first read that part. There feels like there was more to come. Yes the story line ended, but it didn't feel totally complete. This might be the end of Tessa's story for now, but there's enough teasers out there that has me eagerly awaiting when the author wants to revisit this world. I give this a strong 4.5 stars, losing half a star simply because this is the end of the series, but it doesn't feel over.

Action-filled climax to a great Were series
Alpha Unleashed is the breath-catching, toe-curling action this whole series has been leading up to! After the coven's attack on the pack, Luciana has run. It's up to Tessa, her unreliable but horrifying visions (which have been off since Luciana took her powers), a few vials of potion, and her hodge-podge group of friends to find out where the black magic-obsessed Luciana is and stop her before she can wreak more havoc on the world. I love the play in this one between all the characters: Dastien, Merideth & Donovan, their other Were friends, and the witches remaining who managed to break their blood oath, including Tessa's cousins Claudia--& her new Were mate (go read Bruja if you haven't yet!)--and Raphael and the mysterious part-fey Cosette, who gets more and more interesting by the end of the book. There is a lot of death and danger throughout this book that kept my heart-rate through the roof and my hand over my mouth in horror, but the real excitement starts when all this destruction threatens the secrecy of the supernatural world. Then it becomes a race to find and stop Luciana before the pack, the witches and any humans can get hurt! Of course there is also, thankfully, some romance and swoon-worthy Tessa-Dastien moments to soothe the anxiety and stress seeping from Tessa right off my kindle into the room. A fantastic climax in Tessa's story. I can only hope that the lovely Aileen Erin continues to grace us with her enrapturing tales about the many other, fascinating characters.

4 stars: Alpha Unleashed by Aileen Erin
Tessa becomes a reluctant ambassador to/determined defender of humanity when Luciana goes full-demon and the supernaturals are exposed to the world.Best bits: Tessa is a walking contradiction, and yet consistent with her character through the series. She wants to help, but not be in the spotlight. She wants to use her visions, but hates them. Etc. Her best feature in this book is her ability to be were, witch, and human all at once, suppressing were instinct in the face of danger to prevent bad things happening and combining it all to reach victory. Good support from the rest of the cast, too. Maintains abstinence until marriage (or bonding) and does not include sex scenes, thankfully. Solid HEA, even with more books promised.Issues: Some typos, and several obvious missing words. I still have a beef with the overly-italicized bits where she is having a vision. More swearing (especially as things go downhill, so at least that's "appropriate," timing-wise). Lots of demons, and using that creepy corpse hand from book 4 (though thankfully that is minor in this book).

Satisfying as H!LL
This was just the ticket for me. Resolution. A bad-ass smack down. Humor in all the right places. Well paced. Really enjoyed this one.

Okay
The story and characters were well developed and had an interesting plot, however I struggled with the whole bonding thing. For me it happened to quickly and lacked emotion. Even after they were bonded I didn't feel the love for each other it just felt like meaningless words. Tessa obsessed over him but he didn't do the same with her. She recalled her bonding but he didn't recall his to her. She didn't even ask him! He said words in French but again lacked emotion. Such a shame as I loved the first book. There is a HEA but not sure if I again felt any emotion from it.

Enjoyable series
I do love this series, it's a nice way to wrap up the series. It's a shame that there is not going to be another to say what happens to the rest of the team. This book isn't overly exciting but it ends everything nicely.

AMAZING
I loved this book. Not just the book but the whole series. This last book in the series really brings the hole story together. There's not really much I can say this book is just incredible. You need to read this series. Tessa is just a badass. Haha. It's written lovely. I really liked the way she brought the whole series together. Not predictable at all. Just read it. Not a waste of time. I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN...
