I love the Pet Genie! I bought this because throwing poop bags into the outdoor garbage can gets stinky in the heat very quickly. We keep it under our lanai and smell nothing except a small odor when emptying it. That’s because I squeeze the air out of the container bag. I love that there is a cutter stored inside for changing out the bag. No need for scissors. Just cut, tie and throw it in the larger bin on pick up day. I empty it once a week out of habit. When all the bags have been used replacing it with a new bag unit is easy. If the poop bag doesn’t go down a little shake is all that’s needed to get it to drop. Don’t buy a pail buy this!

This thing is so good I wish I bought it years ago. We tried different ways to throw out the poop bags: small trash can outside, coffee grounds for the smell, leave it cracked open for the smell especially during summer but nothing really worked. This truly holds in the smell including during the last couple 100* heat waves we’ve had, truly can’t smell a thing. Super easy to operate and refill. Just be prepared when you change it after a couple weeks, the smell will definitely hit you!

This little waste bucket is an odor container. The pail came to us completely assembled. All we had to do was put in the bag and off we went. We live in Florida, and anyone who knows the heat and humidity in Florida can only imagine what it can do to smell of confined dog waste. The smell is enough to knock your socks off. In comes the Pet Genie Pail; this small but mighty little waste bucket will keep that odor safely sealed inside . . . until you open to put in the next bags of waste. We try to open and deposit the waste in tandem so that we minimize the release of the smell as much as possible. Be ware that you need to hold down on the sliding lever when opening the top or it has a tendency to lift the contain instead of just opening. Because we live in the Florida heat, we used three to four dog poop bags including one that uses baking soda to try and stop the odor when container is opened. No luck. We finally found that flushing the pet waste down the toilet and putting used bags into new poop bags and place in the Pet Genie Pail works best for us. (The EPA actually recommends this method . . . please note that you should NOT flush the bag!!) Once we figured this method out, there is zero, and I do mean ZERO smell when opening the Pet Genie Pail. For anyone who's ever used a Diaper Genie, the bag refill works the exact same way. Tie the end, stretch it down. When you're ready to toss in the trash, pull a bit of extra bag, cut with the pail's cutter, tie the top, and voilà . . . toss into trash and start new. We cannot speak for using a pooper scooper with this Pet Genie Pail as we have always used poop bags. The opening does seem a bit small to me for aiming to dump from a scooper of sorts, but someone who has used that method is better suited to review that particular aspect. Nor can we speak to the mobility of the container as we leave it on the porch and don't carry it around the yard. It does look better than any other option that we came across. The container it self is smaller than one might expect. I'm short, 5 feet and it comes to my knees, but you really don't need much taller, nor would I think you want taller as it's small size compels you to change the bag before odor becomes a problem. All in all, a great buy and we are pleased to have found this Pet Genie Pail. The odor locker lever works until the pail is opened to put in new waste. Works just like the Diaper Genie. The Pet Genie Pail is a sturdy container designed just the trusty Diaper Genie and works exactly the same way. (Just for reference, we have one large dog about 75 pounds who regularly goes four times a day . . . a pooping machine as we call her!)

I love this product. I live in a townhouse and need to keep my dog’s waste in my garage till garbage day. This product is an easy to use waste container that holds a week’s worth of waste from my 26lb cockapoo in a neat and odor-free manner. It really keeps my garage odor free, even in temps above 85 degrees in July. I’m very happy with this purchase and have been letting my neighbors with dogs know about this product.

My only complaint is that it’s too small. If this thing was just a *little bit* bigger it would be perfect. The handle is nice to cart it around the yard but I’ve found with my small yard I just leave it where it is, which is another reason why having it be a bit bigger would be nice. I’d also probably rather have it have a step to open rather than the handle to pull, and part of me wonders if I should have just gotten a diaper genie, but I’m not sure it would hold up to being outside as well as this does. There is pretty much no odor, if you close the top before you pull the handle. And there’s very little odor when emptying it just that few seconds to tie off the bag. All in all I’m satisfied but some tweaks would make it better. -offer it in two sizes. A smaller portable one and a larger stationary one -foot pedal to open/close Those tweaks would make this a solid 5 star, but it’s still a very good product and I do recommend to my friends with dogs!

Call me a procrastinator! I should have returned this when I had the chance, didn't! I should have wrote this review way sooner, didn't. I am going to start with this is a frustrating POS 💩 (no pun intended) and nothing like the cat disposal genie to which I also purchased 2 of prior to this dog genie! I assumed they would be fairly similar construction and usage but NOOOOOOO 🙅‍♀️ I guess I'm still totally baffled at how they screwed this up so BAD 🤦‍♀️ I'm attaching pictures so you all can feel the frustration with me!! The main problem is the bag cutter is on the inside where your pulling the bag out and let me tell you what happens every. Single. Time... Bag tears, rips, all the 💩 falls out inside, outside, pretty much every fricking side!! It is an absolutely HORRIBLE DESIGN your better off picking the 💩 up with a bread bag on your hand (my generation will understand that). So I can go one and on with my disappointment of this product and the only reason it continues to sell is those of us that procrastinate on writing these reviews are failing the oblivious buyers out there. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS POS 💩

I’m new to the puppy world by about five weeks, but it didn’t take me long to find this amazing product! After a maggot problem in our garbage can due to tossing poop bags inside, I immediately researched how to avoid that issue in the future. I would’ve done ANYTHING to avoid reoccurrence, but found it was as easy as buying this Pet Genie Pail! It was easy to put together and install the main bag. It’s even easier to dispose of the poop bags. I read reviews that said this pail doesn’t keep the smell down but the pail has to be used properly or of course it’s going to smell. (And let’s be honest…dog poop smells!) HERE’S HOW: 1) Push out all the air from the poop bag and tie a tight knot. 2) Open the top lid and place the bag into the obvious spot. 3) Close the top lid. 4) Slide the “tray” below open and closed once. DONE!! The pail has a handle for convenience and a “foot” thing on the back to sturdy it up. Emptying it is where the smell comes in but it goes pretty quick. Use the cutter attached to the pail to slice the bag off (this is a little tricky and you’ll need to get up close,) tie a knot in the top and toss it in the garbage can the night before pickup. Tie another knot in the bottom of the remaining new bag material inside the pail, push it down a little and you are good to go again! Our pail is kept on the sun porch just inside the door. The pail is convenient, sturdy, and everything opens and closes easily but best of all…no maggots!!! This is a win!

Everybody needs one!! I loveeeee this thing!!! We moved to a new suburban culdesac community that doesn’t have dog disposal bins. My garage is connected to my house and bc of bears in the surrounding area, the trash bins need to be kept inside the garage. Terrible for dog owners who don’t have this!!! This thing keeps the smell inside, it’s perfect. I empty it every Tuesday AM on trash pickup day and it doesn’t fill up! Could probably last longer but who wants crap just sitting in their garage! I have a 1 year old-65lb golden retriever that poops 2-3 times a day, I pick up the poop with individual poop bags, and make sure there’s no air in the bags bc that can occupy more space in the Genie and that’s worked perfect for me. I keep it in the garage bc I don’t want it to sit out in the sun and get more potent smell, you obviously get a whiff of the stuff when you open and when you’re changing a new bag but other than that-NADA! I love it!

Absolutely love this thing! We have 2 dogs and their poop does not stink through this. Life saver in our garage! Highly recommend

I have been using it for a week in the summer heat and so far so good (although I keep it out of the sun). Flies are locked out. The real drawback is the thin neck. I scoop the poop from my lawn and drop it in. The neck of the bag above the cut off has smears of poop on it. Not very nice and hard to handle when it comes to changing the bag. As for the bag, I pulled and pulled... it is meant to last 2 months of bags and you keep tying the bottom so pay close attention to the instructions. I downsized my pooper scooper so it would fit more easily but it is still problematic dropping faeces into the top of the bag. Will definitely need disposable gloves to cut and re-tie the end. Could be better designed or at least have a wider neck.

Handig, had ik eerder moeten weten en aanschaffen. Heb kleien tiewraps erbij gehangen voor afsluiten zakken. + Handig + Sluit goed af + Snijmes aan binnenzijde - Opening beetje klein - Geen deurtje aan voorzijde, dus via de bovenopening moet je de zak afbinden dat is onhandig. - Navulling duur

El cubo es genial, cuando lo abres no huele, aunque los recambios son caros. Yo he puesto repuesto de bolsas de cubos de pañales en el dispensador cuando se han terminado la que trae y me va bien, así que no tires el dispensador cuando se termine por si quieres probarlo

Très pratique, aucunes odeurs ne s'échappent à voir quand je changerai le sac 😉
