No, no, no . . .
I’m a big Denise Mina fan, and really liked Conviction, but this follow-up is just a mess. I’ll describe it using her own words, from the Acknowledgments: “just a bucket of unrelated ideas” and “utterly tedious.” I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of Anna and Fin, but I hope we get more Alex Morrow before that.

Gripped
Start reading this and you will not stop. I'm really enjoying how Mina embraces podcasts, blogs and blogs alongside the crime novel form. Very pleasing!

A real muddled up book!
Save your time and your money. This book is a mess. Her last 2 books have been so disappointing. I have been a fan of her work for many years, but she has lost her way now. Hope she can rally and return to better conceived and written books.

Disappointing
I have read several of Ms. Mina's books and found them to be good to excellent. In Confidence, Ms. Mina takes time describing inconsequential items and places but fails to spend time on the plot and character development. The books read like a magazine article.
