I’m a stickler for jam reveals and this tool will save you time and effort. Been making jigs for years and yes they work well and some people are going to stick with that approach. I however wanted a shiny little adjustable tool that makes marking reveals streamlined and easy. Especially good when working in a house with both 1/4” and 3/8” or larger reveals. Set screw works well but I still check for slippage on occasion. My biggest issue is where to put it between doors. If I drop it in my bags, I spend more time than I’d like fishing it back out. Planing on tapping a hole in it and putting a small split ring and wrist lanyard on it for improved usability. Otherwise I think it’s a great tool. Been using it a little off Label for some cabinet door gap reveals as well. If you’re a finicky finish carpenter who likes shiny gadgets, I’ll recommend this one for you

There isn't anything to dislike. Simple and handy tool.

If you set and trim doors this is a must in your belt. Gives you straight lines to set your trim and gives you a set line for taking your measurements. Saves you time and time is money so it pays for itself in my opinion. Excellent little addition to my belt.

Cool little tool

The quality and feel of this are great. The size and adjustability are great. The accuracy of the gradations is terrible. At no point on any of the scales do the markings line up with what the reveal distance actually is. I had to set the reveal with a combination square.

These work nice for door & window trim or any other trim, only part I don't like that the maker can change and should is the set screw, needs to be bigger, I will buy 1 of my own and change it.Otherwise I would buy again.

Excellent tool for marking casing with its adjustable setting for different sizes. As well for mark small lines it's a great guide.

Very simple little tool that now lives in my trim carpentry pouch. Lightweight, well made and accurate. Yes you can set your margins with a combination square, but takes that job and frees up the combo square for other jobs. Hard to beat for the price
