I have a few heating pads, and this is the largest one, and it heats both the front of your torso and your back. It has an automatic shut off, which is necessary, and it heats quickly. I"m small, about 5 foot 2 inches, with a long torso, and this covered me all the way to my buttocks -- which is perfect for cold winters! I like to just wear it around the house when I'm cold.
