Brilliant system of play-learning
I cannot recommend this system highly enough! My 4 year old grandson loves using it and as soon as he sees the pen, wants to โplayโ instead of watch videos after school. I have now given him 4 of the figures. All great.

A Really Good Way to Make Literacy Practice Feel Like Play
We already have experience with Edurino, so adding Niki to the collection made a lot of sense for our six year old daughter. She is much more willing to practise reading and language skills when they are presented as a game rather than something that feels like formal schoolwork, and Niki fits that approach particularly well. The Niki figurine unlocks the word based learning world in the Edurino app, covering areas such as word recognition, vocabulary, listening, comprehension and simple word puzzles. I like the way the activities build progressively rather than throwing lots of new information at a child at once. Everyday subjects such as animals, colours and food are introduced through games, then reused in different activities so there is repetition without it feeling too repetitive. The interactive element is probably the biggest strength. Children have to listen to instructions, identify words, solve little puzzles and work things out for themselves, rather than simply watching something happen on screen. It gives the screen time a definite purpose. There is also a nice sense of progression and reward, which helps encourage children to come back and practise again. The figure is very much durable. One important point if you are new to Edurino is that this particular product is the Niki figurine and access to the Niki learning world. The ergonomic Edurino pen comes with the starter sets, so you need to already have one if you want the full intended experience. The app also needs a compatible tablet or device, so this is not a completely standalone toy in the traditional sense. I also like that it feels more educational than many children's apps without becoming dry or overly serious. There is plenty here for a child who is developing early reading and vocabulary skills, although children who are already confident readers may find some of the earlier activities too easy. Overall, Niki has been a worthwhile addition to our Edurino collection. It combines reading practice, listening and problem solving in a format that genuinely feels like play, and for children around the intended age it is a much more engaging way of reinforcing literacy skills than simply working through worksheets.
