Yamahas are best IMO
I got a black A1M. First, it is beautiful, IMO. I have played many and owned several, including Fenders, Washburns, Taylors and Martins, up to $1900 guitars. Of all, my Yamaha FGX3 is by far, the easiest to play. The strings feel soft. The Yamaha A1M was the second easiest to play. By that I mean fretting clean notes and playing clean barre chords. The A1M projects louder than most, has deep base and is fairly bright. Reminds me a little of a Taylor that I had. But, I dislike bright guitars and this is not too bright. I love both of these Yamahas. The FGX is a bit better guitar. Different, with its aged tonewoods. But for 1/2 the price of the FGX3, the A1M is a wonderful guitar. If I had $650 and wanted to buy or upgrade to one stage worthy peice, the A1M would be it. It did come set up at 2.3 mm high on on the low E side, at the 12th fret. I adjusted the neck to get it to 2.05 mm. It helped a lot. My FGX3 was 2.0 mm and perfect rightvout of the box. I wish I would have found these guitars earlier in my search.

This one is a winner
I donโt normally write reviews, but when I saw This guitar was advertised on Amazon. I had to write one. Iโve had my Yamaha A1M since 2018. It was a graduation gift from my father. Iโve played a lot of martins and Taylors And even bought and sold a more expensive Yamaha. But Iโve never had such a connection to the playability of an instrument then my A1M. I learned on electric so the thin almost strat like neck of this guitar makes the upper fretboard no longer intimidating on an acoustic. The neutral balance, tone of rhythm chords is where this instrument shines. I couldnโt recommend this instrument more to a beginner or an experienced player who wants a cheeper alternative to a perfectly balanced instrument.

Best Choice in the price range
I love this guitar so much I couldnโt help but write a review. Iโve been playing guitar for 10 years now and I finally decided to upgrade my first cheap acoustic guitar I got for Christmas years ago. After spending a week searching for the perfect guitar, I found this one and instantly knew it was the guitar I was looking for. I played some Taylorโs and other really nice guitars around the 1000$ range and this one out played them all and whatโs amazing is that it cost the least. It plays so smoothly and sounds better than I couldโve hoped for. You canโt go wrong with this guitar. Whether youโre a beginner or an experienced player, give it a chance. I donโt even think Iโll ever need to upgrade after this one.

Too much money for this guitar
Disappointed with the sound and quality of this guitar. I've had less expensive guitars that felt & sounded just as good. Frets felt too high. I decided to return it for another brand.

The A1M exceeds all expectations
The factory setup is outstanding! Low action, no fret buzzes, plays in tune all over the neck - it is a joy to play and hear. The onboard tuner gets it exactly right and the design and workmanship are outstanding - a dream to play. I looked at a lot of guitars, mostly online, before I chose the A1M. I bought an "open box" instrument which may well have been returned by another purchaser. That just means I got a great price on an outstanding instrument. I couldn't be happier.

Like the warm mahogony tonal influence on the Sitka spruce. Not overly bright and very loud-focused
Amazing tone and projection for this price point! Really impressed. I picked one up at guitar center as I really like to play a guitar before buying. It best out guitars costing more. More similar to the thousand to fifteen hindered range. At least my individual guitar is. Very impressed with what Yamaha is doing. The laminated back and sides don't really hold it back.
