Canned ham, from the Food Gods at Goya
I got this case of 16 oz hams last year, and it has served me well by letting me store it for emergency protein and for regular meals. The cans are durable, easy to get into when you want some ham, the ham is salty but in that good way that a fatty piece of ham should be. The smell is pleasant, and the texture and mouthfeel are both first rate. This is no Iberian ham, or other bourgeoisie product. This is accessible, delicious canned ham by a trusted company, Goya Foods.

Super value, not too salty.
The best price on Amazon for canned ham. Although it is cured, using it occasionally like I do will be okay for me. The package came in perfect condition. Of course I had to test one can and it is absolutely delicious. Perfect for long-term storage.

Ok too buy but
Eatable but taste could be better. Not saying it was bad but something was missing. Maybe the way I smoked it.

GREAT PRODUCT FOR EMERGENCIES
i like this ham - its sort of a cross between a ham without much flavor and spam - it has less salt then even the 25% less salt spam and i hardly notice the salt - very different texture than spam, its got chucks in it but seems to be pieces and shreds squashed into a loaf - it comes a part easily to make ham salad or dips but wont likely hold together well for frying a slices etc - i use it to make ham salad sandwiches and dips for crackers and added to beans for "pork and bean" - a perfect choice for long term storage and emergencies and not much more expensive than spam - i bought the case of 12 cans and its a great price i think

No Leakage Visible Initially But Two Or More Cans Rotted & Leaked In The Box While Stored In Pantry
The most disgusting experience with a product ordered from Amazon, Ever. No leakage was visible initially upon receipt of the box of 12 cans of this Goya Ham, and we checked the cans, as we always do when ordering canned food items online. There was no indication of leakage, but we did notice the cans (and pull-off tops) seemed thin, flimsy and "flexy" compared to say, a Spam can or other brands of canned ham or sardines & the like, but we weren't concerned as there were no signs of leakage and this was the first time we'd ordered these. At any rate many weeks after receiving the box & storing it in the top of our pantry as emergency food we started to notice the smell of what we thought might be a dead mouse or rat in our attic, under the house or inside a wall (old wooden house). We also noticed an increasing amount of gnats, which we thought was from our garden (natural fertilizer) as it's spring & there's always gnats & small fruit flies this time of year in our tropical location. Long story short, finally tracked down the smell to this box on a high shelf in our pantry (high ceilinged pantry w/lots of stuff stacked on every shelf so it wasn't obvious that this was the source right away). Put on rubber gloves, pulled the box down & took outside to open, as it was rank & the bottom was sticky. It was full of tiny flies/gnats and their egg cases covered every can & the inside of the box, as well as mold & putrid bacterial growth. Needless to say, I hucked the whole box of 12 cans in the county garbage can & we will never buy this product again. We love Goya products & their pricing is generally very good, but this product is a loser: Not packaged well (flimsy cans & pull-off tops), and no matter what, even if the cans were beefed up, there should be thick cardboard between the top layer of 6 cans and the bottom layer so the top layer doesn't or is less likely to compromise the integrity of the seal on the pull-off tops of the bottom layer during shipping. This should really be the case for all canned products with this type of pull-tab removable top when they are shipped stacked inside the box. Horrible, unhealthy and potentially dangerous experience. We informed Amazon & received an account credit for the amount paid, so this rating is purely directed at the product and the manufacturer. Amazon was very helpful and we escalated this to a level that should (as we were told at least) result in the manufacturer being informed of this as an ongoing issue with the product, as we have noticed in hindsight that there is a high percentage of customers receiving this product damaged and leaking, or even rotted in the can as in our case.

Not bad flavor and texture, good thing to have in your pantry
Good thing to add to your preps just heat and serve, keep it in a dark , cool and dry place and you should be able to store for years. Taste is fine does have some salt in it. Mix with beans and or rice and you are good to go.
