Puxinat 2 in 1 Separable Sound Bars with Subwoofer for TV

Got this on a black Friday sale for our sister in law who just got a new projector as a TV. My husband, who is a bit of an audiophile, was very skeptical...and grumbling at me about why we'd even give a no name brand gift. So I decided to set it up to see how it looked, sounded, worked, etc. Setup: I'm a bit of a techy and good with the whole putting furniture together thing so I was also worried that if it was at all hard for me, my sister in law would end up using the box w speakers in it as a side table... Thank God this was a breeze. So there's only 3 cables to setup. The power cord, the sub into the main speaker and the left/right speaker connection. I didn't try the Bluetooth because I wanted to test different things from our tv. I actually just used the optical cable from our Bose to TV connection and popped it in the puxinat, selected optical mode on the speaker and voila worked like a charm. Sound quality: so I tested but throwing on some Jurassic Park, tenet and then some YouTube music. The tones are not quite as good as our Bose system (yes the husband got nit picky) but it is definitely good enough for me and anybody who just likes to watch movies with good sound. I think the sub woofer does a nice job at rounding out the car chase or dino roars while balancing out the other sounds on the L/R speakers. Look: I agree with another post that I wish there was a way to turn off the red led mode. I could see that getting annoying if the lights are dimmed and you're watching a darker movie. Other things: my only small issue is that the longer cord for the speakers wouldn't be long enough for our preferred placement around our big ol TV so I do wish the speaker bar had a wireless feature for when it's broken apart. But it should be just fine for the projector with Bluetooth. I also think a timeout function would be nice. My sound system has an auto turn off feature if someone (ahem my husband) falls asleep with the TV on. I do love the twist and click feature for both the stands when it's separated or connected as a bar! Such a smart way to make it easy to use in either setting. At the end of the day, my husband approved the gift...the quality of sound and ease of setup for the deal we got was worth it! Yay

UPDATE: I now highly recommend this soundbar and woofer. I'm not an audiophile, but for the price, it does exactly what I wanted — it enhances the sound, adding "layers" to the sound compared to the TV's built-in speakers. Not long after I returned the original soundbar to Amazon, I finally heard from Puxinat's customer service (CSR) and I have been stunned at how **GOOD** they have turned out to be when they finally contacted me. When I told them I had returned the original soundbar for the issues that I described below, they offered to send me a new soundbar and a wall mount at no cost. While I was a bit skeptical, I said, "Sure." Just a few days later, the wall mount arrived (a third-party item) and after 2-3 more days, the soundbar arrived. After I connected the soundbar to my TV, it still didn't work. I decided to try it on another TV and it worked just fine. Apparently, the HDMI/ARC port on the 1st TV had gone out while we were watching a movie (below). We ended up buying a new TV that was on sale (the 1st TV also had a pixel issue and might not have lasted long anyway). After sorting out some settings, the soundbar has worked perfectly. The wall mount that Puxinat sent works great. The mount that is built into the Puxinat soundbar is actually a poor design. Without some kind of spacer or a separate mount that will get the soundbar away from the wall, you cannot mount it on the wall and use an HDMI cable. There needs to be 2" between the wall and the soundbar. ORIGINAL: I really wanted to like this soundbar, but … I got it at a good price; reviews were generally high; it was easy to connect; once I figured out that I needed to change my TV’s sound output to PMR, it really sounded good. My original intent was to mount the bar on the wall beneath my TV and leave the woofer on the floor. That’s when the first problem popped up. It should be simple as the mounting holes on the back were done nicely. HOWEVER, the cables connect to the back, the side that would be against the wall. Because the cables protrude from the back, especially the HDMI cable, there’s no way to mount it without jerry-rigging some way to mount it with a 1”-2” gap between the wall and the bar. I tried contacting Puxinat but the URL doesn’t work and they have yet to reply to a FB message. I did get an email response that basically said, “We will reply if we get around to it.” When I couldn’t mount it on the wall, I put it back on the floor. Shortly afterwards, while we were watching a movie, the sound went mute — it was no longer recognized by the TV. I tried everything I could think of: different HDMI cable (one that I knew worked), different HDMI ports, disconnecting everything and starting over, checking TV sound settings multiple times, checking other devices in the HDMI port that I was using for the soundbar. I connected it to the TV with the optical sound cable and that worked with streaming services but when I switched to OTA input on the TV, I got horrible static. And, with optical connection, I could no longer use the remotes for the TV or the Apple TV to control sound. To top it all off, somewhere in the process, my TV remote quit working to control the Apple TV. I really tried to like this soundbar and your experience may be very different. For me, though, I would **NEVER** recommend buying this soundbar or anything from Puxinat!!

Great for TV, movies and gaming. Voices are clear, explosions pop and sizzle, and they remain clear at louder volumes. Connection options are plentiful for this price range: 1 HDMI port, plus AV and AUX inputs are available. I also like the option to either set up the speakers vertically or link them to mimic a soundbar (the left/right speakers must still be joined by an AV cable), plus the wall mounts are a welcome bonus. Two caveats: The chords are long enough to set up around a desk or TV stand, but you won’t be able to stretch them much past 4 or 5 feet. Also, If you plan on using this extensively for music, I’d instead rate it between 3 and 4 stars depending on the genre, as these speakers are lacking high-end clarity and volume, across all equalizer presets. Songs like Eminem’s “Without Me” sound just fine and the subwoofer provides very satisfying thump. But genres like classical music or songs that feature instruments in higher keys (violins, slide guitar…) get muddled. Still for a sub $100 speaker & subwoofer sound system, I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend them to anyone looking for a TV/Movie-centered experience on a budget.

This is an amazing product at a really low price point with features that really mattered to us. We setup a projector in the backyard for movie nights by the pool and fire. The projector speakers didn’t have the depth to make the experience completely enjoyable. We added a small portable Bluetooth speaker to the projector but it still didn’t have the same experience as our inside entertainment. We were looking for something easy to setup, compact, but a full range of sound to make the experience better. This setup did not disappoint. What we really liked: The easy-to-read display on the front of the sound bar to show the connected source and the volume level when adjusting the volume. You can view it from far distances. The side buttons on the soundbar to allow for easy adjustment without searching for the remote. The option to make one long soundbar or split into two soundbars (two cables lengths and stands are included for which ever configuration you prefer) The multiple connection types to make it compatible with whatever source we connect it to. The base and treble settings on the remote so you can fine tune the sound without having to go to the sound bar. The length of the cables, I didn’t struggle placing the items where I wanted them. The simplicity to connect since we intended to use it as a mobile setup. The sound quality at the price point. We have other 2.1 sound systems in the house that are comparable to this one, but we paid a lot more them. I created a video review showing the sound before and after the soundbar is added. The projector volume was max volume, and the soundbar was at half volume. My only complaint: We didn’t find any batteries in the packaging for the remote (2 AAA), so make sure you have batteries.
