Walrus Audio Guitar and Bass Strobe Tuner Guitar Pedal with Backlight LCD (900-1083)

This is a great tuner that's built like a tank. The screen is vibrant and easy to read and the interface is intuitive. I've been a big fan of the Walrus Canvas line since they launched it a couple years back. Their power supplies are great, and this tuner doesn't disappoint either.

The Walrus Audio Canvas Tuner is genuinely the best tuner I have ever owned, combining professional-grade accuracy with unmatched visibility and functionality. The massive, full-color LCD screen is incredibly bright and clear, making it effortless to read the strobe display on a dark stage or under glaring sunlight, and the ability to rotate the screen orientation makes it fit perfectly on any cramped pedalboard.

EDIT: Walrus Audio reached out to me directly with a sincere valid explanation. Both by email and a phone call! That's some great customer service. Long story short: It was never actually made with the power thru, there was a miscommunication with the listing stating "Onboard power pass-through jack for powering other effects" and showing a picture of the original prototype - which is not the case. They are working on updating it now. Aside from my initial frustration, this pedal is fantastic if you're looking for outstanding display (with a cool photo upload feature to load your own set lists, cat pics, etc.) accuracy, and wide adjustable Hz range, and just some super cool style overall pedalboard bling! Giving it 5 stars now. Bought this because I felt it necessary to exhibit a cute photo of my poor old sick and dying cat on my pedalboard, but more importantly, because it has an adjustable Hertz range & allegedly offers "Onboard power pass-through jack for powering other effects" (even shows detailed photos of said jack) yet the one I just received has no such jack... Used it to setup a couple of my guitars. It is pretty much going to stay on my workbench and be used for setups and repairs.

This tuner is great when it works. Super accurate, fast, responsive, and fun to customize. The problem is that it sometimes decides that it simply doesn’t want to work. The entire unit freezes up and doesn’t register anything. I replaced my power source, unplugged and replugged, restarted, tried an exorcism and nothing works to bring it back. It just restarts when it’s ready. In a touring environment it’s a cool gadget to have except for when it becomes a paperweight unpredictably.

Lots of useful features, such as a set timer, bypass options, display options, and as accurate as most tuners in this price range, but it's got an annoying pop when stepping on the pedal to switch from bypass to tuner and back. Audible through my amplifier. Ugh. Update to add: It is s-l-o-w in detecting the instrument signal, and made tuning in a live situation feel like an eternity. Could have been great.

Fits nicely on my pedal board. I like that the screen orientation can be switched up. Needle mode with tune assist set to medium works best for live. I purchased this because I play many outdoor patios in the spring, summer and fall. Screen is bright. Can be a little touchy like most tuners, but it is fully programmable...so I hope to get it dialed in a little better as I use it more. Not the holy grail...but it's the best tuner I've found so far.

I did not expect that it was so easy to operate and build quality was more than expected.

The display is fantastic and it fits the pedal board nicely. Accurate tuning on various guitars so far. Bit pricey but I would recommend this tuner.
