Frees up some space
The monTek bike stand went together fairly easily. It is easy to adjust to hold a variety of different sized bikes. It seems stable where I have it in my garage. It might not work as well in a busy house with small kids or exuberant animals. The footprint is smaller than the length of my road bike. Be aware that it is significantly wider at the base than a bicycle.

Fácil de ensamblar y uso práctico
The media could not be loaded. No le doy 5 estrellas porque pedí un par de estos soportes y uno de ellos llegó defectuoso. Aunque al final lo pude armar y evitar proceso de cambio o devolución fue una molestia el ensamble.

Pretty good product
Must put a strap on your wheel, and can be a little finicky but it’s a decently well built product

Needs Improvement
I own five bicycles and am always looking for off-season storage solutions. Vertical storage stands generally have a smaller footprint freeing up storage for...more bikes! This unit looked promising.Build Quality: There were no rating subcategories, but I would rate build quality 5-stars. The finish is superb. It took me just under 15 minutes to assemble after inventory and layout. The only hiccup was when it came time to screw in the telescoping stanchion locking knobs. The plastic sleeve on the stanchion overlapped the threaded hole slightly preventing insertion. I had to trim back the opening with a utility knife in order to insert the knob. There were also some "spare parts" left over which are not used in assembly.Instructions were clear.Use: This is where this stand disappoints. It can be used to store a bicycle horizontally or vertically. Horizontally, just roll the rear wheel of the bike up the tray and insert the rear tire in the "U" shaped fitting. It is, however a very wide "U" and a very wide tray. The rear tire on that red bicycle is a 700C x 42, the front is a 700C x 38. It was unstable in the stand, rocking freely from side to side. And you cannot roll a bicycle onto the stand without first locking the handlebars from rotation. It will simply pivot and fall over.Storing vertically was even more disappointing. IT WILL NOT PIVOT UP WITH A RACK ATTACHED. Three of my five rides have racks. So I grabbed one of my vintage rides and it did pivot up, but this is a small, 53cm, frame and it just barely fit. If it were a larger frame, the "U" fitting at the top of the stanchion would center over the seat stays. It may fit a larger frame, but the centerline of the tire would be at the very edge of, or beyond, the wheel tray. It was more stable in this position, but I would have liked a strap to secure the seat tube (or seat post) to the telescoping stanchion. The 700C x 25 tire seemed lost in the tray, leading to some instability. Now the strap to prevent the wheel from pivoting: It's beyond useless. It's hook/loop material (Tradename = Velcro) with just 1.5" of hook on the same side as the fuzzy loop. You have to wrap the strap around your frame/wheel several times and then twist the strap in order for the hook to fasten to the loop.Final Thoughts: As it stands (pun intended), this bicycle storage stand is suitable for children's bicycles and older, 26" mountain bikes. If you have a typical 55cm road bike, 9er, or one with a rack, look elsewhere.I really wonder if those who designed this stand ride bicycles. With just three modifications it would be a nice stand: Add a top stanchion strap, lengthen the tray to accommodate larger frames, and change all of the "U" shaped fittings (including the tray) to a "V" shape. Combined, these improvements would add flexibility and stability of the bicycle on the to the stand.

LET YOUR MOUNT KICK BACK AND RELAX
Being the organizer and leader of a large social bicycle club here in Fort Lauderdale with over 1600 members and growing daily, the safety, health and well-being of our riders is always priority one. The same goes for our mounts as well. It is discussed before every slow roll. And one thing all my members know about me is that I love customization and personalization. And if it serves both safety and customization then roll on I say! My local bike shop could tell you how much they make from our patronage. And not just for technical stuff but for lots of other fun stuff as well, gadgets, toys and accessories are always welcome. I like to gift away some small safety item to our new members at the beginning of each slow roll, most often it will be a safety whistle to wear while riding. Sometimes the gifting goes to another level. It might be a lighting kit, a set of pedals or grips, locking kits, occasionally even a pair of gloves or a helmet. I encourage my members to keep their mounts very well maintained in order to not get left behind (in reality we would never let anyone get left behind). Anything that keeps you out of danger and improves the experience of riding is for us. This MONTEK Vertical Bike Stand is fairly impressive right out of the box, which is nicely done. Even with its fairly small size it is very hefty and has a very solid feel. Not to mention the rubber silicone coating feels great in your hands and also feels great to your mount. No worries of paint damage here. For the cost you cannot beat his set. Assembly is fairly straightforward and instructions are easy to follow. There will be screws that are not needed in this kit per the instructions. The tool for assembly is included but get your own for more speed during assembly. You have two knobs-they fit one way only-get the right one for the right hole. You absolutely must use the velcro strap to secure the front wheel to keep things balanced during storage. And it is important to have as much weight off of the front end of the bike to help keep it steady in the rack. Anything attached to the seatpost will be in the way. Just lean the bike back on its rear wheel. Slip the seatpost holder into place and raise the guide as high as you can to keep the rear wheel from rolling out. Easy Squeezy! Once all was secured I shook the heck out of it and nothing fell off the thing. Seems nice and steady once completed. Just guide the bike forward to release it from the stand, don't forget to remove the velcro strap before rolling. It is definitely a space saver but I have five bikes in my stall so this will make a nice gift for a lucky club member who has the need for bike storage and will be totally stoked to have it. And as always remember:Ride Safe, Ride Strong, Ride Happy!!

Horrible construction
I cannot express enough how much I hate this. The threads were all not quite right, the holes in the base didn't line up and it took me forever to get the bolts in, and one of the adjusting knobs on the back, the threads are so bad it is basically unadjustable as I had to use a wrench to get it tight enough to be stable. I do not recommend this item at all. We got two of them and they both had separate, but completely frustrating, construction issues like this.
