57905 75W90 GL-5 Synthetic Gear Oil for Hypoid Limited Slip Differentials - 1 Gallon

A true synthetic oil - for my 2005 Subaru Forester diff, front and rear, this is the only real choice. It's expensive yes, but I've 400K on mine and ZERO problems, I used this almost exclusively and don't regret it, I had it done once at one of those drive through quick change places and they put some crap in it, it didn't drive the same and i re-did it myself 1 oil change after using this. It's just hard to find in stock at the usual places, so i tend to buy a gallon and hold onto it for a whiles.

Great value for what I hope is quality oil. Changed out the rear differential and front differential on my Tundra yesterday and this new honey went into my old honey!😉 Should give me another 50,000 worry free miles. Get the hand pump recommended so you don’t drive yourself mad!

I changed my oil ,trans , transfer case , diff front and rear all with redline products.Now I’m getting 2.5 mpg more than before.

It took two tries to get a gallon here. I'm guessing the first one leaked. So far, it seems good. My rear differential in my 2007 4Runner is running a bit quieter and it just "feels" smoother. It has close to 220K on it and I'm not sure the last time the fluid was changed so I figured I'd buy "the good stuff." I'm happy with the results. I'm doing the transfer case and front diff next.

Best oil available and it’s made here in the Bay Area. I first learned about Redline perhaps 28 years ago racing motorcycles. Air cooled high performance engines require oil that won’t varnish at high temperature. Redline was introduced to solve this problem in both motorcycles and aircraft. I have been a believer since then and use it in a sealed environment like a gear case where synthetic oils really shine. Because synthetics holds particles in suspension better then conventional oils, coupled where they are used in a sealed system, they outperform and last longer under much higher temperatures, then do conventional oils. I use this on the front and rear end of a 3500 Dodge Cummins 6.7 liter diesel 4x4 that is used only for towing a 15,000 quad slide 5 th wheel. I have gauges so I know my differential oil temps and use after market covers so I carry 7 quarts in the rear diff and almost 4 in the front diff. The last thing I want is a diff failure on the side of a steep climb out of Death Valley in summer! Yes, it costs 180$ to use Redline. I use it to prevent failures because of heat generated pulling a heavy load. In 25 years its all I use in gear boxes and their MTL works wonders in a standard transmission easing into gear. I simply will not use anything else.

I've had dozens of mid 70s, early to late 80s, early 90s RWD Toyotas... Coronas, Celicas, Supras, Corollas, 4Runners and pickups. I usually used Mobil synthetic in the diffs and transmissions... but my latest 94 2WD pickup I decided to try this. Let me start off by saying that this truck had the notchiest, stickiest shift I've ever experienced in a Toyota (yes, even worse than an R154)... so much so I thought the slave cylinder was leaking and the clutch just wasn't getting pressed all the way. I'd read great things on various forums, and decided to at least try... even still not believing in a miracle cure. When it came time to change to the fluid, the diff fluid was rather dirty, but not the worst I've seen. The W55 came out cleaner... somebody had obviously replaced the 75W90 recently, so as I'm watching it drain I'm thinking this is going to be a bust. Well not so... on the test drive around the block it was already noticeably easier to shift, and after a 100mile drive, it's insanely better! Still has a great notch into gear, but no more double or triple pumping the clutch and jamming it in there. Absolutely positively recommend. Makes me want to go get an R154 and try this. Also, pro tip, Toyotas have magnetic drain plugs on the diff and transmissions... clean them (the W55 oil may have been clean, but the plug had never been touched)
