Sal Bahia Iodized Sea Salt COARSE Crystals 26 Oz Bottle

Anyone with a thyroid needs iodized salt. This was the only one I found that was iodized sea salt, which normally is not. We need coarse salt to put on just before eating so we can taste the salt and not use as much.

So glad to have an iodized version of the coarse salt we keep in our salt grinder!

What I like is dual use: In a grinder for table use. But also I need salt as electrolyte loss from a life that involves sweating, needing to drink a lot of water at work and play. Without salt I feel weak some days. In winter the heat is high and dry heat don't even realize you lose water because it evaporates rapidly. I can use large crystals like this like swallowing a pill, wash it down with water. People mix salt in water and that's ugh, gross, you make the bite into lemon face. I want the iodine and other Sea salt or doesn't have it. I also have a table grinder to sprinkle on food, you kind of know in a lifetime of fine salt shaker how much to use on your plate. The quantity and price means it'll last me for years.

Love the shakers for coarse salt.

Very good just as described

I originally wrote this for the same product in a different size (the bag, not the tubs; but they are the same product from the same company). I have been buying this salt for about a year and now I wish I never had. I had been buying the tubs but then discovered they had bags - so I bought a bag to refill my tub, refill my grinder, and put the rest of the bag into a ziplock. After we went through the refill of the grinder, I took the remainder of the bag that I had sealed within the ziplock and refilled the grinder. I had noticed something in the salt but assumed it was something harmless like a stick - which doesn’t belong either but still, would have been harmless. My husband noticed it too and took a closer look and discovered it is a ROACH LEG. I am beyond disgusted. I have been in food manufacturing facilities as a quality engineer and there should absolutely be processes and manufacturing controls in place to prevent this sort of thing. Thank goodness we didn’t grind the leg yet, but still disgusting that it was present. And it also makes me wonder where the rest of the roach went. I have since found a different salt company, with SQF certification, that offers coarse iodized sea salt for the same price and with free ground shipping and have just placed an order with them. I will NEVER order the Sal Bahai salt again.

Very potent! Use about 1/2 to 2/3 of what you normally use for regular salt.

Not quite as course as the sea salt grinder I usually but but acceptable. Note that this is not a grinder. I just tossed my existing sea salt and poured this iodized salt in.
