Explux Full Glass LED PAR38 Outdoor Flood Blue Light Bulbs, 120W Equivalent, Weatherproof & Anti-Ageing, Dimmable, Blue Color Spotlight, 2-Pack

I purchased these Explux Commercial-Grade Amber LED PAR38 Flood Light Bulbs 2 Pack through their store on Amazon.com last fall. After barely four (4) months of use both bulbs failed. The base of the bulbs deteriorated to the point they would no longer make the electrical connection in our outdoor lighting fixtures. They are apparently not robust enough to stand up to the mid-western weather changes of rain and snow in the Chicago, IL area. The beam of light was initially strong but diminished quickly. I have emailed the company for a warranty replacement or refund. I will update my review once I hear back from the company. At this point, given the expensive price and failed outcome I cannot recommend this product for use in an outdoor fixture that is exposed to the weather elements.Update: The company responded to my email within 24 hours. The customer service representative was very professional and informative with his response. To insure that the bulbs with stand the outdoor elements the bulbs should be installed in a fixture that provides a complete seal around neck of the bulbs to keep the moisture out. My fixtures do have a rubber seal but apparently did not keep out the snow and rain. I may try these LED flood lights again once I find an upgraded landscape fixture that provides a complete seal. The bulbs came with a five year unlimited warranty. The company has refunded the full cost of the bulbs including sales tax. The refund is already in my account. I give this company a FIVE STAR rating for customer service and for standing behind their product. Thank you!

I guess I was a bit impatient. Now that a little time has passes, I can swear that no bugs are attracted to or flying around these bulbs. I have not had the time to experience any other problems that others have reported, but I am changing my 1 star to 5 stars.

These last forever. The brightness is just right. I use them for an area 40 x 75 feet. The Amber color of theses is spot on. They do not attract insects and yet light this area enough to feel comfortable and see pretty well. Many of these are too yellow but this brand and product is exactly as stated. My neighbors comment on the color and brightness always in a very positive way. Wii buy again. If I ever need to.

UPDATED 12/6/22. I wanted to come back and update my review. After reading another reviewer’s positive experience with customer service, I decided to reach out and explain what happened to the bulbs I used. Allen was very prompt in responding, and helped out with warranty issues. Also was suggested that I use an aluminum fixture too, which I’ve ordered. I can definitely recommend this company.(I use a good quality fixture but one of the lights blew last season. The blue led is great and illuminated to the tree top branches. I reordered a replacement today.)

Amber to protect wildlife and eyes

After years of being afraid to turn on the power-sucking 300 Watt incandescent bulb used in my swimming pool waterproof light enclosure, I bought a color changing LED. I found that I left it set to blue, or maybe to a program that did a subtle blue to violet shift. Very pleasing until it died a couple of months later. Then it's replacement died after a little over a year. Although the color changing LED's seller replaced the first light, the second would be on me at $60+. Not to mention the fact that accessing and changing the bulb is a pain in the arse.So I went to this blue bulb for the pool, having already used the red model in my jacuzzi with great, trouble-free results. The red is perfect in the jacuzzi; red light doesn't transmit thru water well, so it is not too bright there. Blue light is transmitted better, so I tried this 10 Watt blue LED in the pool. It looks great, is bright but not too bright, inexpensive, and should last a lot longer than the color-changing bulb it replaced. And because it is a sealed bulb (unlike the color-changing one with its exposed LED elements), it should resist any moisture within the sealed enclosure. I am pleased.

These ARE NOT amber. They are not even orange. They are dark yellow. And at 14 bucks apiece, they are one of the most expensive PAR38 floodlights on Amazon. We have three fixtures in the front of our house equipped with the new Edison Type Vintage Amber bulbs (from different manufacturers). They all match each other. I ordered these floodlights to replace two white floods that were in a motion sensor double lamp fixture to light up the driveway when some one pulls in. THESE EXPLUX FLOODS ARE NO WHERE NEAR AMBER. They are dark yellow, and not even close to the other outside lights. I checked the factory sealed box - it says amber. There is a small amber round label on the light. Everything is amber except the bulb lens. There is one true amber spotlight on Amazon, but is designed for indoor use only and has a very thin lens. I would not place the Westinghouse light outside. (And it's incandescent, not led, and BR38 style. However, other reviewers have used the Westinghouse with success outside.) So, I'm still searchin' - like the Coasters.
