MyBuild Mecha Frame 5 Mech Suit Building Sets Toy Building Block Green Trooper MF05-G01

All good

I love was Mybuild does and the ingenuity of the build design. I bought as a study guide to do sketches from, its engaging to put together, its easily manipulated with a good range of motion to give a huge variety of stances. The build tolerances aren't as tight as LEGO, that's the one criticism I have, and as a result the hold between the blocks isn't necessarily as strong as you'd find with other building block companies. This is not to say its poor quality. It is finely and consistently produced. In summary - totally worth the price tag. well thought out design. good and fun to use product.

It's a really nice build set. You can see on some parts that the quality control is not as high as Lego's, but it was still good. Came out great. Nice and easy building instructions.

This review is based on opening, build, and one weeks worth of posing. Box: Clean look, lots of info. Some of it is for the role-playing/story of the mech. Great condition. Packaging: Upon opening the box, the blocks were sealed in several bags and the instructions were in perfect condition. Instructions: Very easy to follow. All pictures were in color and consistent with the shape and color of the blocks they were representing. May be a little more complex for the 6+ rating on it but would be easy for that young of an age if a parent were to help. I would say more like 8/9+ but that's just an opinion. Blocks: Very similar in shape and style to the Lego brand. Some of the colors (light green) did not match any of my existing blocks but that may not be the case for others. Compatibility: Tested several blocks with my existing batch (99% of which are Lego brand) and seemed to snap to them with no issue. In the pictures you will see that I added my own Minifigure and also added several red and green 1x1 translucent bricks to represent flashing lights as I plan to use this as a police mech. Mech Frame: Very impressed with the overall look and feel. All the joints have excellent friction to them so that you can pose them in tons of different stances. You can see in one picture I had the mech step on some blocks so it went up on one foot because of the pain. In another picture I have it kicking one of the other mechs I purchased at the same time. I can't tell you about the potential for the joints to loosen over time but after one week they have not done so yet. I will update if/when that was to happen. Building: the blocks went together very snugly for about 90% of the pieces. The ones that didn't were more a case of the build not layering the blocks in some points. But to do so would cause the mech to get bulky so there has to be a give and take. Minifigure: This is my only real complaint for this product. The legs and the body were so loose that if you picked it up by its head the upper and lower would come apart. One of the arms snapped in fine but the other would not seat all the way and come out if you move the arm too much. The graphics are great looking on the minifigure. The accessories for the minifigure are awesome looking and I wasn't aware that it came with any. Great addition of parts for my other minifigures to have. But for the price you can't really complain especially if you are going to leave the mini in the mech most of the time. Summary: This is an amazing buy for anyone who's a block builder who likes space, mechs, or sci-fi. I will probably buy a few more of these and make a squad out of them. If this were a $40.00 set I would give this a 4 Star due to the minifigure. But for the price this is easily a 5 star and I'll be looking at their other mechs soon.
